There is no way ever that light contact will cause failure anytime this year...or next, unless he runs it flat out 24/7 for some time.

That's just it. We are talking about a performance application. Constant loading and unloading. This isn't a diesel truck that chugs down the highway at 2000rpm all day long. That blade is moving around quite a bit. It's just not a good idea to keep pushing it knowing there is a problem somewhere. That's all I'm tying to say.

Unbiased...other than them wanting money from you for a rebuild...same as PTE would do.

If you want to be pedantic about it...the fact there has been contact you could say the impeller and volute now need replaced, nevermind if there is anything else.

But back in the real world...no they dont

Little different to people who run no filter, with bashed up wheels...that run reliably day in, day out.

Of course they too shouldnt be like that, they should be repaired....but in the real world....people keep using them as they're still fine.

Yeaaaa, look, I respect both your opinions on this, just dunno what to do. Of course re builders say to send it in immediately but, at the same time I can't find anything online that says this wear is "fine" or "normal" and to run it. One of the many times I cannot find a concrete majority ruling from the mighty interwebz and I know I will worry about it till I can get a concrete answer.

My truck could have the same wear marks and I would never know or care but now that I know of the wear, do I pretend its not there?

Why don't you send a few pics to Jose at FI or one of the big turbo guys and just ask them what they think? Jose is a pretty honest guy.

LOL at that ! Although to be fair, I've used a few BB Precisions and have nothing but good to say about them, all 4cyl applications though.
But what you read on the net would scare people from using them...and is also why I chose BW for my own car.

If you're really concerned, then nothing else will settle your mind other than having someone look at it.

But you know as well as anyone...almost any turbo repair place will tell you it needs this and that and charge you for it. For most part it's in their interest to do so. That's just the way things work.

it's no different that blower owners not wanting to return units that are mostly fine back to Vortech or Procharger...as they know they'll get charged a fortune because something will be wrong over and above what they actually need fixed lol

But for your peace of mind, just go for it.

It's really handy to take photos of everything, as it's so easy to look back.

I try and keep photos of everything, all new parts, during built etc, photos of boxes including part numbers etc. It also means they are date stamped too which helps keep a timeline when looking back.

With the resolution etc on modern cameras, sometimes you even catch stuff you werent even photographing specifically.
