Default S10 turbo - forward headers

Hey guys, I'm planning my 1st gen s10 turbo setup (already 5.3 swapped).. I found some info, the other day, saying the "eBay" forward headers will fit a first gen s10.. however, I can't seem to find it again.. Any help? I've searched all over...

Will these headers work, assuming I put a universal joint in the steering column?

Thanks!

as far as i know there is no ebay headers that will fit like that. what you found may have been a misunderstanding.
ive built a few forward s10 kits and they always had to be fully custom.

This isn't the specific information that I saw before but found it while searching... Check out the last post in this thread:

That sounds about right, s10s are very tight and most people remove the entire blower box and have to get creative with the steering to make anything fit at all.

Yeah I dont have a problem fabricating a little bit.. It just seems that modifying the headers a little bit is better than making a set of logs.. I'm already getting ready to add an additional U-joint to the steering shaft, moving it completely out of the way.. So I think that will be taken care of..

I was mostly concerned about the height of the headers and such.. I don't really want them sticking out of the hood haha

From a horsepower standpoint, logs are fine. i have made a couple sets and its a decent amount of work, but i would bet they last much better in the long term than some chinese thin wall headers.
the ebay route will be a little cheaper and easier but i wouldnt trust them to last more than a couple years.

I'm building a 99, and I've been wondering about the left side myself. I got truck manifolds, guess I'll find out when I get it in there.

I as well have truck and fbody manifolds at hand.. But I just figured neither would work for a forward mount setup.. Anyone have some info on this?

Had to move steering column. It was easier than making new manifold. Drill new hole in firewall and patched the old hole. Made thru tech several times

The ebay up and forwards work, just need to shorten the collector a bit and re weld the flange on.

Is there a shorty header out there that you could swap sides and run your hot side down for a single build?

Also, have you got a link for the ebay headers?

I'm not sure the link would be allowed here because of sponsors, however just go to the Bay and search for "ls1 forward turbo headers." You can't miss them for around $170 or so..
