Couple ls1 turbo related questions
Good day,
Have a 02 Camaro, ls1, t56, 228r cam
Quite familiar with turbos and how it all works from import days
Realistic goals would be 500 rwhp, don't have access to e85
1) Keep the ls1 or sell and get a cheap 5.3?
2) If I keep the ls1, is the 228r cam fine for boost or swap it out?
3) If I keep the ls1, should i change heads and get the compression down?
4) If I keep the ls1, should I change rod bolts? Any other things to strengthen for 500?
Thanks and sorry for probably dumb questions

I'm running a little TC7868 on my stock bottom end LS1, stock rod bolts and all. CNC ported 317's and custom turbo cam on 7 lbs with the cutout open. Calculating weight and trap speed its making about 530rwhp on pump with no meth. Fun and solid little street car that should last a very long time. Build thread below from start to finish. Ive seen guys make 500rwhp on totally stock LS1's so really there isn't much you need to do, upgrade the fuel pump/wiring and injectors is a must. The cam you have may not be ideal with the 112 LSA but I could be wrong. At worst pull it out and sell it on here and pick up another. Other than that bolt on a Huron Speed kit and let'er rip potato chip lol.
