Default ON3 Hot side quality.

I installed this kit a few years ago but didn't get to drive it until last summer when I started tuning it. Well during the short time I was driving it my relief spring in my oil pump was sticking so everytime I made a pull I would loose oil pressure. During one of the few pulls I did I lost boost at the top of second and figured I blew a pipe off. Drove it back home and the pipes were good. Pulled the filter off and the turbo wouldn't spin. Figured the guts were toast. Well just got back in the states last week and started working on the car again. I took the turbo apart today and was suprised what I had found. Took the compressor cover off and it is mint. Took the turbine off and one little corner of one blade is bent but it doesn't look like anything went through it. Loot in the turbine housing and find 2 pieces MIG welding stuck in the scroll. I am thinking it came from where they welded the wastegate pipe to the crossover.

I am thinking they MIG the first pass and then go over it with a TIG lol.

Another note the turbo still feels great just that one slightly bent turbine blade. I think one more barely hit the trash and the rest just grazed it.

No Ac setup. I ended up not using thier manifolds the kit came with. They were Dorman repops and had all the EGR and emission fittings in them. I didn't want to risk any leaks so i threw those in the trash. Also it was hard as hell to get the back bolt in for the crossover with the kmember in the car. I chose to use stock truck manifolds and left the studs in and just notched the crap out of the stock kmember to allow access. It is much easier now to R&R the crossover and I have no leaks. Also spent a lot of time getting the cold side to fit properly. Lots of triming where the cold side comes through By the drivers side fuse box. Also spent extra time adjusting those pipes so the silicone hoses wouldn't get a hole rubbed in them. Takes time to get that adjusted where nothing rubbed. Intercooler mounting is a joke. I will still say it's a decent kit for the money. Just not what i thought it was going to be like after reading a build thread on here...

Dont wrap the manifolds on this vendor. Ours cracked after less than one year of casual use in dry kansas weather. They would not fix it and made us pay over $700 to replace it. Poor customer satisfaction here.

The manifolds cracked or the crossover cracked?

I guess the old adage stands true; you get what you pay for.

You could have bought one from dorman or used a GM truck manifold.

It came with the kit. I guess when you spend thousands is $$$$ on a complete kit, it should last more than ONE year of mild use. Like less than 5k miles. Maybe I am wrong but to me it's crappy business practices to charge $700 for a replacement manifold.

They are just truck manifolds. Why you would pay $700 for one I don't know.

The kit has an on3 turbo.

The manifold is a fabricated tubular design.

It in NOT a cast factory manifold that was modified.

We did not pay $700 for a modified manifold.

my buddy and i put an on3 kit, 76mm ceramic ball bearing on3 turbo in his 00 camaro 3-4 months ago, been running 4.5psi makin 442RWHP. 162,xxx miles on stock 5.7 when installed.
Just turned it up to 8.5psi last week, made 548RWHP, 530LB/TORQUE. Car is now at 169,xxx miles
Honestly, we couldnt be happier with the quality of the piping, hot and cold side. For the money, its hard to beat. Runnin on3 WG, BOV, Fuelpump, injectors. Its all on3 with no issues yet.
Now were not expecting the on3 turbo to last forever but if it makes 12k miles i feel the money was well spent.

Not the first time I have heard of a manufacturer voiding a warranty due to wrap.

JDL does the same thing and theirs is top notch stuff

ive seen so many cracked manifolds and crossovers on various ls mustang threads. its cheap Chinese stuff. there is a reason why a whole kit is what 1500? you get what you pay for every time. I think they use 16ga stainless which is way way to damn this for hot parts
