Picked up a car hauler yesterday. 18' with 2' dove tail so now I'll be hopefully making more races. Car drives just fine on the street but I have been wanting the added security for track days. Just need to add some fenders and will be good to go.
I have a lot of suspension adjustments to make and a slightly worn transmission/ clutch that are not making things easy. This was my 4th pass with the car and actually caught a decent 60' time of 1.6 but the nose came down a little hard/ fast so lost some speed I think. Managed a 11.83 @ 125.57mph with some really slow shifts since my trans/ clutch seem to wana fight every shift. Ill be sending the trans off this winter to RPM but for this season wana enjoy the car. I think with the right adjustments, shifts, and possibly a WOT box I can get this car really moving and deep in the 10's. Also the car will be turned up once the trans and clutch are done to 16lbs or so so we will see what power that brings. I am new to the suspension set up game so any advice would be great. Pretty much everything is DA and running SA qa1 coilovers up front and SA strange shocks out back.
Car seems to want to smoke upon stopping and if the nose is downhill so in the process of installing a turbowerx scavenge pump. Using the stock air pump location and modifying its bracket to mount the scavenge. Hit a snag due to not having enough -10 lines in the garage long enough for what I need but will get the last line made and installed this week.
Those seats pretty easy to install with the racecraft brackets? I sold my cheap seats and plan on picking up some Kirkeys as well.
Yes they could not of been easier. I installed them by myself with a couple 2x4's and a pillow to get the seat where I want it. I am 5'9" so have the seat up higher and closer than most but it still has room to move up forward and has all kinds of adjustments down and back. The racecraft brackets really made it easy and adjustable.

Right on. I'm 5'9" as well. The seats I have right now are cheap eBay seats and my helmet rubs on the cage a little when I am racing. Want something that sits lower.

Well you will have no problem with a kirkey and racecraft bracket getting your seat lower. I could probably drop the seat three to four inches.
Starting off this year on a sour note. My turbo was leaking so I rebuilt it and then found a deal on a billet s480 so picked that up for an unplanned turbo swap. The exhaust housing is 1.25 so I’m excited for that since I’m 408ci.
Good to see another 6 speed turbo car making some passes. Did you ever get the shock adjustment figured out?
It started coming around but unfortunatly just didn't get the seat time last year or beginning of this year. Seems the car liked the fronts a little stiffer so the car settled slower and didn't unload the rear. I still left the rears neutral so I could work on one adjustment at a time. Ill be getting to the track now that I have the bugs ironed out hopefully. Also this year a 2step so I can launch with some boost.
Been awhile since updating my thread. This year has been nothing short of frustrating with issues with the car and lack of time at the track. I got the oil issues figured out since it was a locked up scavenge pump. After that I made it to the track with no success so I used a few rainy days to install a WOT box and Mgw shifter. What a difference those two things made. My shifts have become faster and more importantly much more consistent. After that my next few track attempts I ran into an issue with my 2 step not functioning properly at times or not at all at other times. Next my fans kept blowing my 30a fuses so the car was not maintaining the proper running temperatures. I am throwing some 40a fuses in to see if that fixed the problem and it was just a surge issues when the fans initially kicked on.
With that said the season is rapidly ending here in Indiana and I am hopeful to make at least one more go at it. To date the car has been 11.6@ 125 with a 1.69 sixty time. So needless to say it is not where I want to be or where the car could be. That best time was without the WOT, Shifter upgrade, or a working 2step. Goals for the car are as most people as fast as it will go but realistically at my power level and weight I feel low to mid 10 second passes are in the cards.
With a little luck and cooperation by Indiana maybe I can get a few passes before the tracks close for the season.
Got the bugs worked out from last year I believe so am excited for this year. Did a few small upgrades over the winter like passenger kirkey, racetronix fan harness, and a rst clutch. Will be turning the car up some now that I have a clutch that can handle more power.
