Is a GT80 going to cut it with a 383?
Is the GT80 going to cut the mustard? So, After tons of reading and trying to sift through pro's and con's, theory, and preferences, I need some help. I am looking to get around 800+ and a low 9's 1/4 build. This is primarily street car with an occasional trip to the track. Build sheet so far:
Forged 383 short block w/ 9:1
Trickflow 220 heads
FAST 92/92
Custom grind turbo cam
Custom Fuel System
80lb injectors
Built T56
9" w/ 3.73
Suggestions and sharp shooters recommended.
Thanks in advance.

Your 383 will have a better backpressure ratio than the 402. Remember, that turbos operate more efficiently on smaller motors. The exhaust pressure to create any given cfm of airflow is the same, but that cfm translates into higher intake pressure on a smaller motor, leading to a more favorable pressure ratio between intake and exhaust.

Any thoughts on the GT88?
97mm Turbine Wheel
1.08AR
I know that is is a bit bigger, but it would give me room to grow later on down the road. The engine is going to be brand new, so I don't know that really matters right now. I really need to just call Dr Turbo and get his recommendation. First world problems.

GT80 listed at 119lbs/min. It's more than enough your goals on a 383 IMO... Go with the larger 1.23 housing if you can.
What is the race weight? I'm well into the 8's with a much smaller turbo (T4 s476 with 87/96 wheel) 370 cubes, 3100lbs and only 18ish lbs of boost. Your heads and stroked engine will flow more than a 370" LS like mine, but I still think you'd have more than enough turbo with the GT80.
