I like how the video includes the slo-mo segments so we mortals can catch up. Then it's back to sloppy speed.

So willl your gear ratio save your trans and converter? Or are you planning on doing something to those to beef them?

I believe he said that he wasn't going to worry about it because he was keeping the power goals relatively modest.

correct, its not going to be a race truck or anything, that is what the colorado is

wanted to see what its like to build quiet and conservative and reliable for a change, the cold AC is pretty nice lol

the gears will help the trans for sure, it wont be working so hard to accelerate

also right now its still giving me growing pains idling with the speed density so im gunna put the maf in the piping and balance it out, tune on maf and SD and see what is the best balance.

realistically it seems like it just needs the maf to idle right, and i can fuel over SD

So Denmah pulled the pinion and posi 4.56 gears out of a junk yard donor truck, slammed it into his wife's truck by just setting the preload on the pinion and then setting the back lash to .010 or whatever and it worked straight away lol!

I couldn't pull that trick off in a dozen tries!

i normally do it by feel, i just brap the impact till its dragging slightly, that is my buddies garage with the lift and he has the little drag scale so i did it for fun.

it felt a tiny loose but i shipped it anyway, measured in around 13 backlash, ill ship them anywhere 10-20

these whine a tiny bit so maybe one day we will tighten it up

What should I look for to get these 4.56 junkyard gears?

Just catching up on this thread. Something I like to do for the turbo drains is buy extra long bolts and just cut the heads off. It makes it SO much easier to install and align the drain. But I work in slightly tighter quarters on my Buick.

I officially call BS on letting 4psi ride for any measureable amount of time. The first time your wife gets cut off by some ******* on the way home from buying groceries, we will get to see results from a newly added boost controller.

Out of fuel or rpm? That pull is still climbing and then falls off a cliff.
