mines at 15* at 12.5 boost but I'm sure I'm very safe. really you need to get some good plug readings and see what it wants. that being said more boost is safer than more timing.

some guys ad timing until it stops picking up power then back off a degree or two. I have found threads on here and y.b. with guys running 20 plus degrees at 20# boost but they don't always get away with it long. the more timing the better your tune needs to be.

Depends on your intake air temps. Non intercooled, air to air or air to water? My buddies Chevelle went from 947 to 987 going from 18 to 19 degrees of timing so a 40 hp gain. Going from 19 to 20 gained 25 hp to make 1012 rwhp so we stopped there. This is at 25 psi on the dyno with air to water setup with ice. On the track hes been running it at 26.5 psi and 19 degrees of timing. On my car I'm still dialing stuff in but I have an air to air and run 15 degrees of timing at peak torque and 17 over 6000 rpm on 15 psi.

My old 9.5:1 370 was up around 21* timing at 27/28lbs of boost. You have a lot more timing to throw at it if all other conditions are right.

Every setup likes what it likes. Its not really something you should be guessing at or setting according to what others run. Logging and reading plugs will give you your answers.

I have air to air intercooler temps are in the in 120*s in about 90* weather. Would I just data log it to see if I have knock and then read plugs to determine if more timing is ok ?

SBE?

I have some buddies running 16-19 timing in E85 with forged shortblocks. I think you need to hit it with more boost to make up for the cubes.
