missing up top when i add in nitrous

Default missing up top when i add in nitrous

this post would fit in several forums, not sure where to put it.

with 15psi the truck runs good, no missing. drop it to 12psi and add a 100shot and it missis badly up top. above 5500rpm or so. I ran some ngk tr6's with some miles on them and it was prety bad. I put in new tr6's and it got better but still did it. just tried a set of autolite 103's and it was prety much that same as the tr6's. I have a set of ngk br7 ordered, that suppose to be the next colder plug than a tr6. here is a pic of one of the 103's, i have them gaped at .030.



I dont really expect a colder plug to stop the missing but maybe it will help. anyone have any sugestions?

i am using a wideband too so i am prety sure my fueling is good. in the 11.5-1 range for all runs.

You might try changing the gap a little, but I dont really think that will fix it. Worth a shot though. On a side note, that plug doesnt look too bad for 600hp!

If you have the stock tack, it might not be able to keep up w/ the motor. What seas 5500 might already be on the rev limiter.

if its easy to swap plugs try gapping them a little tighter, if that helps you may have a secondary ignition problem. Couple weak coils or a bad wire.. There is a lot of cylinder pressure there and you are really pushing the stock ignition IMO.

what would be a good upgrade for ignition parts keeping in mind i am not even close to done with the thing. i expect cylinder presure to be going up much more.

Not much you can do as far as I know, there are better coils out there but thats about it. You may have one bad coil or wire thats breaking down or you may have one cylinder that is way rich or lean, vacuum leak, bad injector, etc also. You can make a blast and when it its breaking up shut it off as soon as you can and look at all the plugs..

Dont forget a 100shot NA will show close to double that when FI. probably close to 175-200RWHP and 250RWTQ. You sure you have enough fuel?

I would run it even fatter with the spray and boost. Try 10.5:1 on the spray I bet it'll pick up a bit and stop sputtering.

here is my wideband log from that run, spun all 4 for 80feet, then had the missing up top, i did run a 11.55 full weight and drove to and from the track.

hey, i just thought of something, with the cut out closed it is about 1point richer than when it is open and it does run better when it is closed. it just misses a little vs alot. that makes me think you might be onto something with the going richer thing. hmmm

looks like i have a plan, going to put new wires on it and richen it up some.
