Default what ignition system mod's for very high hp?

what changes to the ignition sytems are the 800+hp guys doing. other than using the proper spark plug?

i am headed for a t88/408/nitrous combo eventualy. I am having ignition problems right now and was thinking about upgrading any parts now that will be needed at the higher level.

one of the guys with PSJ mentioned there were two different truck coils, round and square, the square ones being best. I guess the round ones arent that great, I never really noticed the difference between them, may want to as PSJ for a pic of his..

You shouldn't be having ignition problems at 13psi your problems might lie elsewhere.
What are your symptoms? What plugs are you runing and what are they gaped at?

i am THINKING about switching to moroso ultra 40 wires and the mototron coils but i havent found a way to tell if i need them or not..without just trying them. but the swap would set me back over $600

im not, i am having troubles at 12psi and a 100shot though. i tried tr6's and now have autolite 103's at .030. i have a set of ngk br7's ordered but i dont think a colder plug will get rid of the missfire, just be a little safer is all.

symptoms.. missfire when i add in the nitrous. wide band is at 11.5 a/f ratio. misses above 5500rpm. so far i am going to try some new wires and richen it up a little.

Like I said before, that plug is not cold enuff for 12psi and 100 shot IMO.

I am running a set of Delco 3911's reccomended by Kurt aka 427. I'm hitting 15psi and went 136 on the 3rd shake down pass.

I am running the Melco truck coils and truck wires.

I like these Delco plugs. NGK's are hard for me to get, and some say they foul out faster. I"m running like a .030 gap right now

These Delcos are like TR8's.

It's easy to change plugs on a truck, maybe try different gaps.

is it missing on a specific cylinder or is it random? you might have a weak coil or coils.

est t

i have my missfire test turned off, the cam set off a check engine light and shut off my lock up. i will try the wires, br7's and a little more fuel. if there is any sign of missfire after that i will turn that test back on and see if i can narrow it down.

the truck almost stops acelerating like there isn't enuff power to push it past 80mph, that would have to be several cylinders to cause that.

try an NGK 5671A-7 or -8 in there. They are a colder plug and it has a recesed tip so no chance of blowing the spark out

With my car and the FAST, the car would not pull thru 4500-5000 with the car coils on one street blast.

I have the Melco truck coils now and it's pulling clean to 7000.

I am not familiar with the NGK part number you are saying, my 3911's are similar to TR8's per Kurt Urban.
