Tons of people runnin them. Tests have shown, best intake for all around power. You might give up a little up top, but there's more usable power throughout the rpm range.

I swapped back to the old style intake.

With a TBSS style intake, you'll have to spend a fortune on a throttle body because the ebay ones suck with high boost. The newer style intake seemed to make a lot more part throttle torque. As far as peak power, they were probably pretty close.

Follow up question: who has a budget minded -4 bolt, drive by Cable throttle body for the newer (tbss style) truck intakes that works in the 100-150$ range?
And I prefer to not have the 3 to 4 bolt adapter in there.....
Is there a stock application that's 4 bolt that I can get ported?
Thanks everybody-

Ebay, if you plan to V-band your throttle body.
Those $90 throttle bodies work great N/A. The ridge on them for a coupler is tiny though. I couldn't get a coupler to stay on the throttle body with anything over 10 PSI or it would violently blow off. I even tried impacting on the T-bolt clamp, and running two of them. Hairspray.. the whole deal. This is the main reason I switched back to the old style intake.

I'm sure with a more expensive throttle body it would work fine.

Thanks Joenova- Im willing to do v-band.... I think I read some where to do Alittle rtv on the shaft as well to help sealing.....there are just so many sources for what looks like the same throttle body I wasn't sure which way to go.....

They are all the same throttle body. Each has their own little stamp on it.

I didn't have any issues with it leaking from the shaft seals. Even if it did, that's what the O-ring on the TPS is for.

Just find a dirt cheap old truck intake with a 3 bolt 78mm TB. It will probably take one or two more lbs of boost to humiliate your local Ferrari club than the 90mm setup, but who cares? That way you still get the throttle cable brackets you need.

I use the $85 92mm ebay throttle body up to around 20psi with no issues. I just used nail polish remover before putting the coupler on.

Even naturally aspirated combinations I thought those ebay throttle bodies was crap because I always heard tuners complain about certain brand throttle bodies. Every tuner I've talked to always saying go Nick Williams over Fast..... the ebay throttle bodies never get mentioned.
