Default O2 SENSOR PLacement

i went to fender exit exhaust i used a 4 inch vibrant muffler.Got everything done and my wheel hits muffler at full lock.My 02 sensor is between turbo and muffler. If i move muffler closer to turbo i have to either put o2 about 4 inchs from turbo or after muffler. Which is the best way to go .

4" from turbo is too close in most cases.

If it's a 4" long muffler giving 8" then it will be fine to run it after the muffler.

Sorry I misread, I thought someone stated above that O2 sensor was too close already. But I see what you are trying to do now. could you not move it closer?

It doesn't look like you have a stock heater box.

What you need to do is trim the firewall behind the fender. The slanted part of the firewall that channels water down into the rocker panels. Cut it at the top where it meets the flat part of the firewall and down the sides. Shove it in 4 or 5 inches and weld it back up.

This is how us Nova/Camaro guys typically make room right there for a muffler without worrying about the tire hitting it.
