Default What gear for a turbo car?

Just looking for opinions and ideas on what gear I should be running. My car weighs 3850 with me in it, I'm running a 4l80, twin turbo lsx making 12-1300 rwhp range. I'm running 275/60/15 Mt for tires. I have a trans brake and bump box as well

On a car of this caliber here is how I do it:

Pick the rear tire.
Pick the rear gear that puts you in the traps at your desired rpm/mph
Pick the 1st/2nd (3 speed auto) or the 1st (2 speed auto) gear to get your desired SLR.

With that kind of power it should trap in the 160mph range. I'd go with a 3.08

Depends how hard you want to rev it in the 1/4. Even with only a few % converter slip you'd be 7000+ doing 155mph with a 3.50.

I like the 3:42's as a good all around turbo gear with a 80.

I should have mentioned I'm currently running 3.50s I was thinking about going to a taller gear to help with traction out of the hole

Where does the motor HP start falling off?

If 6700 with 275 tire with 8% converter slip puts you at 3.23.

I say 3.0 to 3.25. I run a 28 inch slick and 3.25 gear. Unlocked with my 80e I'm seeing 6600ish rpm for 155mph. I'm making a tad over 1000whp and wish I went with the 3.0 gear setup. Just to calm the launch down a bit and knowing I could always up the launch boost

With that said, I weigh 1100lbs less than you, so that 3.25 gear range might just work

with the tall 1st gear in that trans and a smaller tire. id go right to a 3.15 gear if I had that kind of power. hell my car makes a little more than half of yours and I run a 3.23 gear ,28" tire and a 1.76 glide. and I'm only leaving at 2 or 3 psi boost to hook on shitty prep tracks.
