Default Catch can for rear mount turbo setup

Anyone know how to properly mount a catch can on this setup? Any of you rear mount turbo guys wanna share how exactly you routed your catch can? Car has the LS6 intake and valley cover and has a one-way check valve from the throttle body to the passenger side valve cover. Ready to place an order for a catch can just wanna make sure how exactly it'll have to be setup before doing so.

I think you will need to run a vented catch can instead of one pulling vacuum from in front of the throttle body. Outside of that, it is the same way you set it up without a rear mount turbo.

You can take a line from each valve cover, and "T" them together into one inlet of the catch can, and run another line from the LS6 valley cover to the other inlet, of a dual inlet vented catch can. You could also use three single inlet vented catch cans, one on each valve cover and one connected to the LS6 valley cover. You could run one big single inlet vented catch can and just "T" all three hoses together before the inlet on the catch can.

The main thing to take away from this is that the easiest and best way to use a catch can with a rear mount turbo is to use a vented catch can that doesn't need a vacuum reference in front of the turbo/blower.

Or you can use check valve filtered vents on either valve cover and/or the LS6 valley cover. There are plenty of options, but a dual inlet/no outlet/vented can would be your best bet, in my opinion.

So if i "T" both valve covers to one inlet on the catch can, would i also need to "T" into the ls6 valley cover hose? Theres a hose connected there that leads to the back of the driver side valve cover

if you are speed density tuned setting up with a proper system to handle high hp and boost while keeping pcv function is possible.. with the right equipment

maf tuned and main engine filter at the back you are already heavily compromised on setup, so may as well do the RACE style can and upgrade later as the opportunity presents

I'm actually looking at buying one of your cans but wasnt sure which can would be the best for my setup. If you recommend the RACE can then what would be the best way to route it? I am MAF tuned and all hoses/pcv are stock placement except for a one-way check valve from the throttle body to the passenger side valve cover that came with the STS turbo kit

You can use a vented single inlet can and "T" both valve covers and the LS6 valley cover all into the single inlet. Or you can use a vented dual inlet can and "T" the valve covers into one inlet and the LS6 valley cover into the other inlet.

any fitting with built -in pcv like most valley plates and newer driver valve covers are practically useless for controlling crankcase pressure. take off the oil cap and try blowing through them

no i am not suggesting drilling all this out, it has a purpose so understand that first.

also merging two 3/8" hoses into one 3/8" hose only flows as much as one 3/8" hose. don't fool yourself. this includes if a catch can's exit fitting is smaller than the inlet fitting(s) the smallest hose regulates the entire system.

here is a beautiful fleabay example:

see how the inlet fittings neck down? see how small the neck of the breather is? useless.

That is very true. I was hoping that increasing the hose diameter after each merge went without saying.
