Agree, I went from stock manifolds with a single Borg 88/96 turbine to up and forward 1 3/4" headers with twin Borg 73/80 turbines. With the turbo change I tightened up the LSA and went with more exhaust duration on the cam effectively increasing overlap. Seems to work decently, went as fast on wastegate (15psi) as the single on 25+ PSI.

First hit off the trailer with the L33 last night at 22psi. 8.14@169. The DA was pretty ruff too, and his MPH was the same as the old setup around 30psi. He is pretty stoked to do some more testing now!

so fuggin impressive. can't believe the alum block lasted/worked longer than the iron? epic.

does this car dispel thoughts that the iron blocks are stronger if its' doing this on aluminum block?

Anything change on the setup other than the L33 block? New cam, heads? Still on the big single?

that 60 foot time is seriously insane. It's especially amazing to me because in the videos it looks like he leaves with such little drama relative to other cars leaving the line that hard.

Is he using an aluminum or iron block right now?

very very impressive.

As everyone else has proclaimed, very impressive work !!

Could you elaborate on the timing curve ?

Or maybe a ratio of boost to timing from peak TQ to shift point ?

Keep up the good work....

Jon is going to work with me on a starting tune for my '67, some dollaz will be involved. I bought his S485, and bought a copy of the first cam from TJ at Baker. I just need to buy the EFI system and the car is ready to get fabbed up.

I love what you guys do with this car but those bearings are definitely not mint - they are wearing through the first layer of the bearing metal and into the copper beneath.

Considering the application and horsepower, I think it's pretty normal wear, but mint is not the word I would use to describe. $0.02...

Think your mistaken. Pretty sure OEM bearings don't have copper in them. They are aluminium. The bearings pictured here look as good or better than any i've seen taken out of high mileage "unboosted" motors.

Get a clue before posting

Those are a bimetal bearing. They can scrub some and not wreck ****

There is a steel back and thick aluminum overlay.

I also wanted to ask are you guys still on 24x? I finally read the whole thread and saw no fill on the block so that was already answered but I am still curious what the fuel system consists of?

Amazing work again
