Not sure what's so hard. The videos show everything step by step. Having a BW 2017 catalog handy helps because all the wheel sizes are show. Reference the part number of the turbo and they see the catalog for compressor and turbine wheel size.

How high do you want to RPM? What's the max level of boost you think you can run? Be realistic about RPM. Is this a race car or do you actually want it to have some low end response.

There are dozens of 4.8/5.3 combos running the 171702 with no issues at all. You have more cubes yet. Give forced inductions a call he will set you up with what ever you need if your unsure

Here is a pretty good looking match for 14009097014...still sticking with the 87mm turbine and t4 housing. Making 10 psi by 2500RPM with a steady 15 psi to 6000RPM.

The new SXE turbos have much better compressor maps.

Max rpm would be 6k - 6500

max level of boost would be 15-17 pounds

Not a race car.

That's a $1,500 turbo... That's getting close to a PT7675 which would be the route I would go.

Plenty of people in this thread said the other one will work. You asked for a good match and I gave you a really good one. Personally I don't trust turbo companies that don't offer compressor maps.

I think I found it... (177101) $1XXX .... going to have to go back to the dwg board... I can't spend that much right now for a turbo.

you should just get the On3 7875 and call it a day if your on a budget and want to make that power, plenty of positive results with it and it would be a perfect size for your engine/setup IMO

The T4 S475 from forced inductions is like ~850. Tack on $50 more for the small 83mm wheel. He might work with you on price if you give him a call.

The first turbo you listed can be put into a t4 housing. You can find housings all over the place relatively inexpensive. It should do in the 600s on 15 psi. My little 68/83 borg on 13 psi does 535 tire on 12* of timing and a 3x12 cam in a 5.3.

I'm going to give them a call and see if I can speak to a tech, or send Borg Warner an email and ask them.
