Borg Warner turbo size
If I had to do it again I would go straight to the t6 flange. I don't want to have to do it over again when it comes time for a new motor!
With a few kinks removed I'll be curious to see where this "little" turbo takes the car in the future.
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
Thats ridiculous. I've run the small S475 (83/74 Wheel) and the big 87/96 wheel in the same T4 housing (1.10 first then 1.25AR) then a T6 1.32 housing. The larger I went in housing size and exhaust wheel size the more power I made. Every time. Response was very similar across the board. (assuming you have the hotside setup correctly) Having tried them all I can tell you I'd never bother with anything less than a T6 or the 87/96 exh. wheel. on a Small block anything. The power made per pound of boost just isn't there with the smaller units... even on 4.8 and 5.3 liters. I'll take real world experience over a matchbot anyday.
I'd go to turbodaves.com to grab the $640 shipped T6 1/32 S475. Or VSracing to get the T6 1.32 billet S480 clone. Run a 2" hoside feeding both sides fo the scroll on stock manifolds. It will spool plenty fast and make 1000 crank hp turned up.
