Default Shakedown continues at the dyno

The shakedown continues for the Tomato.

Last night I went to New England Dyno and Tuning ( www.nedyno.com ) and threw the old girl on the rollers.

On the first pull it made 577 / 526. This was the same tune that I had when the car went 10.58 @ 128.

After some tuning and tweaking (and a few phone calls to Lonnie Pavtis for wisdom) the car made 654 RWHP and 580 RWTQ.
This was through FLP dual cats.

I’m taking the car off the road for a few weeks as I’m yanking out the torque converter and sending it back to Precision Industries to get tightened up. Currently it stalls at 4600

Thanks go out to Dyno Dean Hoffman and Rob from New England Dyno and Tuning for taking good care of me.

Speaking of that I’ll be going back to NEDT to dyno the LS-1 soon.

Thanks again to Lonnie for hooking me up with some great deals on my D-1 and also helping me select the parts I'm using and lastly for working with me to sort out the associated issues I've had and get me to this point. I'm pretty physched as the car is exceeding my expectations.

I've also got to thank, Scott and Wendy from SD Concepts www.sd-concepts.com for curing my belt throwing issues. I'd highly recommend going to them to cure what ails you (throwing belts and belt slippage).
Last night I was seeing 18 PSI all night long

I think over the winter I will be getting ahold of Scott to have him fab up a custom intercooler and put my 3 core up for sale.

When I built it, my goals were 10.5's, 130 mph and 600 RWHP, two out of three aint bad at this early stage.

I’ll be looking forward to getting the converter back and seeing what it will do with some extra power and a converter that doesn’t slip all the way down the track.

130 mph should be no problem

Here are the dyno graphs

Yeah I think low 10's too.

Which Mufflex muffler? I changed my Flowmaster to the Dynomax Ultraflow welded barrel muffler when I had a Mufflex.

Thanks guys

I'm running the Spintech muffler, 4" inlet, single 4" outlet.
The rest of the exhaust is comprised of FLP 1 3/4 long tube headers and I'm currently running their dual cats (not hogged out either).

I'll run it without cats at some point in time but it's nice that it's somewhat quiet.

If you want to gain about another 30 hp try taking off the spintech muffler for a pull.

Ditto to what Cory said, I think that Spintech muffler is restrictive.

I would drop the muffler for a last pull and see what it does.

You guys telling him to take the muffler off, did you happen to notice it the dyno pulls were done through the dual FLP cats also. Put the ORY pipes in and take the muffler off.

Yeah what Bos said, what pulleys are you running? I would love to see your boost numbers on my ride. I currently have the SDCE 7.250 cp and a 3.4 s/c pulley. Do you run the dual LT1 Intercoolers or a smaller front mount??? Man I can't get over those numbers through a full exhaust

I'm running a 3.75 inch blower pulley and 7.625 crank pulley.

I intend to take the cats off and see what it does in that mode, unfortunatly the Spintech is there to stay as I had the exhaust welded together (except for before it goes up and over the axle).

I'm running a 3 core ATI intercooler, custom front mount
www.geocities.com/marc94z/intercooler.html

I like you guys, "take the muffler off", had another guy tell me to "take the air cleaner and inlet tube off"

That combo puts the D-1 blower right at its max, it should do the same with our 7.25" crank pulley and a 3.2" blower pulley........

The intercooler is helping too

I was told the blower had another 5000 rpm it could spin before I maxed it out

Your right..... i did the math and if you are shifting at 6800 rpm's then you are only spinning the blower to 61,390 rpm's and you can spin yours to 65,000 were we can only spin the D1-SC to 62k. I would max out the D1-SC with the 3.2" blower pulley were i shift at..6800.....63,165 RPM's......

Thanks, I thought so.

I'll see how fast it goes when I get the torque converter back and go from there. Also, need to see what kind of impact some skinnies and QA1 shocks / springs will do for the suspension.
