Default 3.97@184 LSX Power!!!

Finally posted a vid of the 3.94 pass from LO8. We have made over 50 passes on the radial tires with this car and we are starting to get a handle on it! Last season was great for accumulating data with the billet BEI heads. We finally had a LS engine that could run 45psi plus for 50 passes with out working on it!!! Last season in GA we started with a clean 4.44@165 pass off the trailer. Then we improved upon that steadily all season. We ended up with a 4.08@178 in Oct at No Mercy 7. So after 52 passes she was freshened up and put on the dyno before LO8. We made 2213rwhp seating the rings on the dyno and went racing.

LO8.
First pass spun the tires about 30ft out.
2nd pass we left soft and went 4.25@171
3rd pass we put some power to it as the track finally felt good. 4.05@17x
4th pass 4.02@182
5th pass 4.01@186
6th pass 3.97@184 1.005 60ft 2.644 330ft
1st elimination and the track went away again (everyone was spinning) spun at 30ft again.

Looking forward to NMCA in just over a week now!

The times are impressive, the amount you have had to work on it even more so.. Good luck on the upcoming race season. I hope to catch the car again on future livestreams.

No kidding Dave is working on some stuff for weight reduction next season. At LO8 race weight was up to 2710 after putting more and more lead on the front every pass.

A serious question not meant to sound rude or demeaning in any way at all-

Whats the advantage of building a LS to this level over a different platform thats more commonly used in cars going that fast?

Seems like price at this point is all comparable.

Great job! Unless i'm mistaken you guys have the, or one of the, smallest ci motors in that "class" of cars. Awesome.

I'm pretty sure to be at Bradenton next weekend. I'll say hello if I spot you guys.

How much carbon....all of it hahaha.

It has not been advantages to this point but with the work we have put in we could be getting there soon. You get a weight brake in most classes. You have a lighter smaller package to start with. The price is a moot point between any engine program making big power really. Also we flat out enjoy doing something different and really learning something new.

If we put this in a 2200lb with driver promod we could take full advantage of the weight brakes! I just happen to know of one to put it in too....Get ready for those 5 second 1/4 mile ls passes this summer.

Haha yes it was the smallest by a bunch at under 400ci. The only other small block was over 470ci I think? Stop on by!

Congratulations David! I know you guys have been working hard at getting that 3 second pass!

Last time I looked at the rules 2550 was the base weight I believe for a small block with inline heads. Is the base weight lower than 2550 now for inline headed small blocks?

"Size BIG" on the push rods, HAH! I like to call them baseball bats!

If you don't mind, what is the deck height on that block and what stroke crank and rod length are you utilizing?

9.24
3.6
6.250

2450 base and add 50lbs for "promod" so 2500.

Ah OK, so they took 100 lbs. off the inline SB base weight since the last time I looked.

Do you think you still have some power to give? Are those 88's?
