Default LQ9/S475 83MM T4/LS6 CAM E85 dyno results

I actually sold this car a few months back, but the new owner shared some dyno results with me with I thought were interesting.

Combo is as follows:
*120k mile LQ9, heads never off, head studs, LS6 cam and BTR dual springs, CTS-V pan.

*Holley High ram, dont have any data on the fuel system although it had to be upgraded for the E85

*s475, 83mm, t4, 1.1, open down pipe for testing.

*Truck coils, BR7ES

*LS3 exh manifolds, 2.125" hot pipes, divided, (2) 38mm Tials.

*Ebay 3" A/A I/C, 3" cold pipes

TH400, Trans Specialties "low stall" converter, 8.8, 3.27 gear

Interesting thing is that this was on a Mustang dyno. At 7lbs it made 650hp (sounds high????), and on 18psi spring only it made a little over 800. 26* of timing. I asked for the dyno sheets which he said he will send. Nice #'s considering the small cam and "low" boost.

26* is that normal on e85 @18psi? I know pump gas is way different which is what I'm used to but wow 26*. Good #s tho. 650 for 7psi does seem high especially on a mustang dyno.

26* is crazy. Those numbers are pretty high.

The 650 at 7psi sounds high..... and the little over 800 at 18psi sounds a little low. Especially with 26 degrees of timing.

26 is not normal. Depending on the setup I've seen 17-20 be the sweet spot for that boost on corn. If the extra timing doesn't produce significant power I don't think it needs to be there, but some tuners will leave an extra degree in there if it only makes 5hp.

I asked the owner why so much timing but they say it wanted it!! I've heard that some LQ9's want as much as 19* on 93 and 50/50 so maybe 26 on e85 isn't that far off.

Car actually made 778 on 18psi so i was a little off but still good imo

I've seen timing wheels almost 7* advance and one 5* retarded. So that 26* may only be 20 or 21 in real lift

Was thinking same thing. If it isn't verified timing it could be at a more normal timing setting in reality. Extra 120 hp with 11 more psi doesn't seem normal either. I'd still be happy with #s no matter what timing or psi says. Lol

The small turbine wheel should be choking at 18 psi on a 6.0 so that number doesnt surprise me. 650 at 7 psi is crazy good for an engine that shouldnt make more than 400-420 FWHP NA. The best case should be 650 at the flywheel or about 550-560 RWHP with a 16% drive train lose. Must be nice to be that dude, huh?

The car has a somewhat loose converter, wonder if that skew the numbers at all. Car is going to be a raced this weekend, lets see if the Timeslips match up with the dyno

That turbo pushed my 5050lb truck to 10.82@130. Was completely maxed there though.

You would have to be making like 450 WHP NA to make those numbers at 7 psi. Between that and the timing, there is a lot of fuckery going on here.

But if it runs good, who cares! ******* send it and see what it traps.

I agree the Low boost number seem a little optimistic. But the high boost number seems in line in my opinion, wouldn't you think? If this engine makes say 425 flywheel which, 15psi should double power to 850. Plus another 3
Psi. We shall see what kind mph it pulls. It did run 132 mph at 10-11 psi when I had it. RW was approx 3400+ with my 200lb *** in the car.
