Default Boost referenced FPR

Hey guys, first off Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad's out there. I'm going to be turning up the boost to about 10-12#'s. I'm thinking about getting rid of my corvette filter/regulator. I currently have a walbro 255 in a tanks inc bucket, speed inc fuel rails with -6 lines. I was thinking about adding a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator. Is there a specific one you guys are using? Also will the 255 be enough pump or do I need to upgrade that as well? I was looking at the Aeromotive 13129 regulator. What filter should I get? I need to buy parts tomorrow, any help is appreciated.

I would think that pump would fall a little short. I am running a single walbro 450 and have a 10 micron in line filter to my rails and the rails run to a MagnaFuel FPR. Been happy with the set up so far. I am running around 11#s of boost.

How much power are you shooting for and on what fuel?

I use a single wally 450 with a -8 feed to the aeromotive 13129 and a -6 return. Stock rails and SD 80's

my math says I'm safe to about 700 wheel through an unlocked auto, 92 octane pump + water/meth

I'd like to be in the 550 WHP range. I'll be running 91 and water/meth most likely. The 13129 is only -6 inlet and outlet. I currently have -6 lines and would like to keep it that way to keep cost down somewhat.

always go up insize at least. Eventually u will turn it up we always do lol. I would do -8 feed and -6 return. This will leaves a lil room for more later. That regulator should work fine. I would also go ahead and replace the 255 with a 450 just incase. Up to u!

to give you an idea, the walbro 255 (at 3 bar) pump on my stock ls1 at 15 psi produces at fp drop of over 10 psi.

IF the regulator is only a -6 can't it only flow that much? Wouldn't the -8 choke?

no I have a -6 regulator as well. what I do is run my feed line into the back of rail on passenger side. thin crossover in the front to the driver rail. come out the back of the driver rail with -6 to the regulator and thin -6 to the tank. Basicly u will have all -8 feeding both rails thin -6 only on the return side.

No. His point is that the Walbro 255 can't keep up.

Put the reg after the rails. This way you will get the full volume of fuel to the rails. -6 is fine. Same size as return.
