That’s what I told my dad, between the coolant capacity and the copper pipe I probably don’t even need a radiator

Well got her running. Still have tons of wiring, exhaust work etc to do. But I’m happy.
Fired it up, have a lot of tuning to do. It’s hunting real bad at idle, and I’m not sure why. I believe my IAC is not working.

Primed the oil system with my garden hose pump, was able to build 20# on the Dakota gauge.

Hooked it up, and started it. 80# at idle at first, then it dropped to 60# once warmed up. Let the coolant temp rise to 200*, kicked the fans on and the temp dropped to the thermostat setting of 180 in about 60 seconds. So I’m thrilled about that. True test will be on the Hwy, but so far I’m pleased. One small coolant leak which I was able to easily cure.

Thanks! Novas ❤️.

Fighting some insane tuning/pcm issues right now, and I’m not even sure where to begin now.

I used Matt Happels 210# injector tune file from the sloppy wiki, figured it would be close.

When you first flash a tune, it will start and rev up 3-4 times then die, like if you **** it off. Done, nothing. Try and start it again it does nothing but turn over. Hold the pedal to the floor and it will fire and die. It will do all of this repeatedly, no exceptions.

Flashed in the tune from my iroc with the 80# Dekas, ran great in the iroc.

Same crap.

So I went back to the original stock tune, removed vats, and it starts and runs. That’s what I had in it when I took the video. Tried to make corrections for the injectors, and toncure the idle hunting, and now it’s doin his crap again!!!! So I went back to the tune that it would run on, and now it won’t run on that one either. Acts like a cats issue but I’ve checked it 50x. I’m getting so frustrated

Call it a night bro. It’s mad because it knows you’re gonna kicks it’s *** from here on out. Come back to it later. Recheck wiring start from scratch. Youve done a lot to the car. I’m sure you’ll find it. Time to take a break.

Well I believe I figured out my problem, and it explains so much at the same time. My DD dash has fuel pressure added on, and that’s how I set fuel pressure. But, ever since the first time I turned the fuel
Pumps on, over 30# the gauge displays EEE for error, and I wasn’t sure why. Well, I called them today, and they said I must have the wrong sender. I should have the 0-100 sender, and instead I must have the 0-300 sender. So since I set my pressure using the Wron values, I have over 100# of fuel pressure at idle. Hopefully this is true, I’ll be able to verify it after I get off work. That explains the leaks, the tuning issues, everything. I have like 300# injectors in right now lol.

Mech gauge is always a good backup.
Sounds like you have it figured out.
Good luck.

Ron

Well was a time consuming yet productive afternoon.

Relays installed in the trunk for both fuel pumps and the fans, pumps and fans wires up with 10ga wire, ran an 8ga power wire from the trunk to the new fuse block, and the old one so it’s all powered by the 8 gauge wire, God’s plenty overkill considering the fans and pumps are not running on it, but I don’t want to have to touch it again. Battery mounted and everything wired in the trunk, fuel tank sending unit wired up, under dash factory modified harness installed, car now is officially hands free, everything is done with the key switch, all correct. Maybe be able to drive her by this weekend.

Thanks man! Plans are occasional daily, pick the kids up from school etc, have a few details to iron out, have a leak in my turbo drain, got some exhaust work to do, and to be frank I’m not real thrilled with the way the exhaust sounds. Got a tinny hollow sound when you rap it up pretty good. Haven’t drove it yet, I don’t have any brakes. Getting closer though.

Agreed man! Glad you are enjoying it and thank you for the support!

Got my zr1 map in and pigtail, my 250a disconnect with handle and my cooling fan harness showed up.

I gotta say, Huge shout out to Ron. Had some tuning issues and he took time out of his days to help me out and set me up with a base tune. I cannot thank you enough. Unfortunately I’ve got a full weekend, my dads jealous and bought a back half basically tube chassis roller nova to try and keep up with me. So have a 26 hour trip with him to go get that this weekend.

also, picked up another project. Picked up this 99’ ws6 for $1500 this weekend. 3-4 is burned up. Bolton car with yank 3600 and 3.42’s. Gonna take a weekend and Drop the k member, put in my 247/255 .650/..650 on a 110 cam, my ported, 7 angle valve job with ls1 I take valves 862’s (11:1) and do a quick front end tubular setup. Been needing an excuse to buy a bender anyways.
