I've finally given up on trying to go fast on a true street tire. So, for SCT here in a couple of weeks...i ordered some ET street 275 50 15s and some vision stars to mount em on. I'm hoping and praying that my traction issues are now a thing of the past.
I bought a set of those for the front of my car in a 17x4.5 and boy were they heavy!
Yea, cheap wheels like these usually make you pay a weight penalty. Being 2 inches small diameter..... and 3 inches narrower than my fikse street wheels, I'm hoping to be around the same weight.
Info on wheels? Im too cheap to buy real wheels. I have been considering the star knockoffs on Summit....seem to have overall reasonable results besides the weight penalty

I don't think you'll have an issue with traction.
My buddy snapped the 9 inch pinion gear in his 408 PT80/96 M6 car using these tires lol.
I wouldn't sweat the 10 bolt to hard either, there's a local guy that makes 875 rwhp through his factory 10 bolt and he's been racing it for years that way.
I also run the vision wheels jegs and summit sell, hard to beat for under $100 each! The rears didn't need any weight to balance and fronts very little. Plus I think they look better then my old race stars and are within about a lb weight difference. My friends welds took enough weight to balance that they came out the same weight as race stars. I'll gladly save the $2000 or whatever welds cost to sacrifice a lb or two.

Amen. I will gladly give up a pound or so if it's going to save me thousands. I can't afford to be out here trying to keep up with the jpneses.
You bought wheels and didn't think about backspacing?! FWIW 15x8 should have 5.5bs for stock fitment
<br />I can't even argue it, Definitely a major oversight. And with the 0 offset these wheels have....i might just be in trouble. Just going to have to test fit them and see. I'm hoping the 0 offset doesn't cause interference with the wheelwell.

On Summit's website they don't list the back space which is why I went a looking.
Good to know a 5.5" is what's needed for a 15x8 wheel though.
Now we just need to know if caliper grinding is required.
If not I may do the same combo...
Additionally if you haven't mounted them I'd send them right back, see if you have a buddy who works for a company that can ship them for you and get a discount, I do it for my friends all the time lol.
