40 hours....what moron would pay that?
I know an M6 swap is different than doing a 4L60E to 4L80E swap into an FBody.
But I'm paying an experienced race shop 4 hours labor to do my complete 4L60E to 4L80E swap in two weeks.
40 hours for that swap was part of the scam..........
This is the performance industry man.....Lingenfelter is a rip off as it is.....but when a shop gets a car in their shop that they know was already through the Lingenfelter shop.....the charges go WAY up....just because they can. Because they know they are dealing with a customer who is basically ignorant when it comes to proper pricing for these things.

You better not tell anyone about that shop...They'll be so busy you'll never get your car in they'll be backed up for weeks lol.
I called about a dozen shops in town to get a converter swapped and was told $500-$800 for labor alone. No way am I paying that when I can do it myself.

A better take a way would be if you cannot do it yourself, this is what it costs at a reputable performance shop. It's also a great example of scope creep and working with what you have because you like it. Starting with a base auto Vette could have saved $15k up front and ended up with the same performance.

Ehhh this is a decent argument. They did do suspension work so z06 suspension is out. I can't remember the full build sheet, however throwing on some z06 brakes and a head swap would netted you a very similar start. I don't know how much it starting as an auto would have saved since they beefed up the whole drivetrain, but I'm sure a good savings could have been had. You are definitely on to something. I just don't feel like figuring out the exact differences and calculating the savings.
