It's my buddy's truck. He just wants something he can take out on the weekend and beat on. We have always wanted to turbo something . He wants it faster than my 6.0/whippled cutlass. Something we can drive to the track, run 10s and drive home with Ac on. Prob gonna tear motor down, new cam bearings, gen 4 piston /rods etc... turbo cam, s480 see where we end up.

So I talked to BTR . They think I should run the twin turbo stage 1 cam because of the trucks weight. Cam specs are 222/231 .602/.598 112+4 anybody have any thoughts on this?

I made 747/773 on a mustang dyno with a stock gen 3 5.3, head studs, 241 heads, Turbonetics 7575, through a 4L80 and Moser M9 9". Fuel system was ID1000, dual 450s, -8/-6 feed and return.

Ya I'm just trying to do as much research as possible. Still need to fig out t6 flange/ elbow/ wastegate size and placment. I was looking for a t6 flange with a wastegate mount , but haven't seen one.

If your push the engine hard, especially in a truck, I suggest selling your current motor and buying a Gen4 engine. That way you dont have to get into rebalance, the labor to take everything apart/reassemble etc. Probably only have to come up with a 100-200.00 difference, maybe none!

What do you think of the vs racing billet wheel s480 clone? This is what we were thinking of going with, we were going to try a 60 mm china wastegate first, before spending $500 on a quality gate. Holley manifold is ordered, just have to fig out flange, and waste.gate placement. Was thinking of the cx racing t6 elbow and welding a mount to it. ( depending on turbo placement ) went down to Georgia for no mercy, so we stopped at summit on the way home and picked up a B&M 4l80. We are dying to put this thing together.

Ok so picked up motor from machine shop along with sniper intake, Holley dominator,etc...
He ordered 96lb injectors. Of course they are not in drop down menu so I have to fig that out. Getting ready to order turbo.

Is that the silver Nova with a turbo? I saw him there a few times he was shooting for a license last I knew. Don't remember a cutlass though. Def stop by next time you see me we can share some build info.
I thought I'd have better luck finding a unicorn in Lawrence than a V8 given the crews I have talked to, very cool to be rolling other than Honda's. Although some of those little bastards can fly!
I'm originally from Plaistow so grew up in Haverhill, Lawrence, and Lowell... in that order cause that was how last call went
