2007 LQ4 - ok?

Thinking of pulling the trigger on an ebay LQ4
2007 out of a GMC Safari cargo van with 269k miles

I plan on refreshing it, so not too worried about miles so long as no major issues. Yard says it runs fine.

Question, aside from it most likely being DPW, are there any major differences between this and say an 04-06 LQ4?

Plans are twin s366's

Depends on the price. I picked up a 09 ly6 with accessories and 98k for $945 shipped to my door. It was being sold as a core because it had a knock. Knowing ls motors, I figured it was a lifter and it was. Found it on car-parts.com

I'm not sure about vans but the 07 classic trucks are 24x crank and the new body style are 58x crank .at liest the ones iv seen.

07 was a switch up model for the trucks and could have gotten gen3 or gen 4, vans Im not sure. If its gen 3 it will be identical to the older models you listed.

Does it matter if gen III or gen IV?? 24x wheel vs. 58x wheel?

the crank sensor is black on a 24x and grey on a 58x. if it has 13 mm valley bolts and 13 mm exaust manifold bolts it has the gen 4 floating rods. if they are 10 mm it has weaker pressed on pistons and rods.
