Default sudden boost loss

After logging a run I noticed it went from 10 lbs on previous run to 3 lbs. Log shows that after burnout no boost duty cycle. So I just hooked up without boost controller to have it around 9 lbs but only at 3lbs. Have pressure tested intercooler and all hoses and cant find a leak anywhere. Anyone have a suggestion what to look for as I am dumbfounded after putting 10 lb spring in and only making 3 lbs and then going to 17 lb spring and making only 7. Thanks in advance for any info.

Are you using tee bolt clamps on all the hoses-years ago I had one losing boost, one of the hoses was actually pulling off, but would go back in place so it looked normal-I switched to tee bolts and problem solved

What intake manifold are you using? Several years ago I was helping a customer down in Mexico City find his boost leak. It turned out he had internal cracks in his LS6 intake manifold. Bob

So history ?

Everything was fine until you tampered with the wastegate ?

So clearly the problem lies with work done.

Is the gate sealed when it is at idle etc ?

Pressure tested gate its on the money for opening at spring pressure with shop air adjusted to 9 lbs. pipe off wastegate and checking at idle and it is closed.

if the valve is sealing correctly on the gate and you are not making boost, then you have major issues elsewhere.

But seeing as you say this "problem" only happened after you tampered with the gates...it would seem likely you have created a problem with the gates.
The most likely of which given slow spool and low boost symptoms are that the gate valve cannot be sealing correctly.

Does the gate discharge into the exhaust again or to atmosphere ?

And again history. Has this setup ever ran correctly ? How long for ?

Are you saying the problem occurred whilst racing but making n changes to the setup, or only after you changed the spring in the gate ?

I have wondered if shop air really would show a problem-while you have pressure, you don't have vol., or heat

It's a pressure test, you dont need volume ( unless you had a massive leak...but then you'd be fixing that. )
