Another little update as this build draws near conclusion, at least for my end of the deal. We went to tune the car, and it was responding to our fueling changes, then it was over-correcting. It seemed odd but we kept on, we did get the car to drive and go into boost. Come home and look at the log and MAP is flat-lining at 105kpa, meaning its not reading boost, and it makes me question the accuracy of the vacuum readings. We have collectively decided these MAPs are not worth the hassle and are both switching to GM ZR1 MAPs with the adapter pigtails. Not gonna lose a race or lose a motor behind some cheap POS china sensor. We did get the trans up to around 180/190 and he said when he turned the fans on temp went right down to 150, so the coolers are a success!

Its been a fun time little lady but its time for you to go back home. Dont mind the *** end squat, there was a bad slope in the yard that i stopped on top of.

Few little odds and ends left, gauges, subframe connectors, front suspension. But she did crank and run and the motor sounds healthy!!!! Did the segment swap for the 4l80e and the 3bar SD conversion.
What tubular bumper support is that?

Glad to finally add some more to this thread. The car has seen zero miles since the last update, mostly due to us never finishing the tune. Well I talked the owner into finishing the car. It was running so lean at idle I had to add 20%+ to the VE table FOUR times to get it to drive itself on the trailer. Not sure what that was all about, but we will figure all that out later.

To start, the exhaust wasn't cutting it so we are going bumper exit per his request. I had enough pipe to make it without buying anything. This will also require relocating the coolant tank. So I started with trimming the hole and installing a 4" trim ring.

Took the original Huron Speed downpipe (two pieces uptop) and the original exhaust I built and cut it and used it for bends.

Started at the turbo, took the original front section, cut it off and turned it down.

Small u bend to go under the frame, and a 3>3.5 tip, wrap, and painted the tip black.

Finished product. Turned out ok for a monkey with a welding gun.

More to come.

Had a little rubbing in the passenger rear wheelwell. Nothing a little hammering can't fix. You can see the small spots it rubbed the color off.

Installed an ICT Billet PS delete pulley. 551776-2

Here's the belt number since they dont provide this info. Why? No telling.

Also installed a rack loop hose from Custom AN Hose on Facebook.

On to tuning, after a few logs she was going into boost, after a few more she was pulling good and hitting AFR. Short clip, since I know everyone likes videos. For those interested in tuning, we are on pump E which is around E70, tune is conservative for daily driving, it's at 11.2 AFR in boost, around 17 degrees of timing 3600-5600 RPM and 19 from 5600-6k. Shifts are set around 6k, and i was able to tune to 12 psi if i rolled into it. This combo is starting to build boost at 2400 rpm on the foot brake. We are on wastegate only with a 7lb spring installed.

What fuel line did you use? I found the Racetronix 8AN PTFE fuel line hose was extremely stiff and hard to route where I needed 90 degree bends that causes pressure points and clamps to hold it in place. That said it would have been a lot easier to route with the engine out of the car than in when I installed my 8 AN feed line.

Your hose looks like it might be Aramid Braided 910 PTFE Hose that is more flexible than PTFE hose with a stainless outer liner. Pricey however, but if it's bends easier then will perhaps change mine to 910 (the last 5 feet of the feed and return at the tank (98)). 98's are much more difficult to connect at the tank than 99-2002 model years.

Nice job on the car!!! Did the racetronix harness come the plugs to splice onto the fans or did you have to buy them separate. I was thinking about buying that harness for a project I am working on.

The lines were bought as a "line kit" from somewhere online, fairly pricey if i remember correctly. They were not PTFE but were supposed to be e85 friendly. Time will tell.

I'm pretty sure it came with the connectors but I remember having to actually assemble them. Cut to length, place the wire in the pins, crimp down, slide into the weatherpack connector with the seals.

You won't go wrong with this kit. It looks to be every bit as good and well thought out as their fuel pump hot wire kits.

When ordering simply ask if the kit comes with both female and male plug ends on the fan(s) side. From the kit pic below it appears the plugs are included on the Racetronix side. If not, then with the kit order the correct plug ends (whether it be weather-pak or metri-pack). They will tell you which version plug will connect to their plug ends (2) and whether it is male or female. Since you cut to length, you have to crimp them yourself as mentioned by 01ssreda4.

The plug ends (maybe). It looks as if their plug ends are metri-pack(10-12). Spal fans (every fan that I have anyway), do not come with 10 gauge leads from the fan - instead are 14-16.

01ssreda4 installation - agree - nice job.

I like the bumper exhaust to. Sounds mean in that video. I am planning something similar for when I finish up my car.

Racetronix supply’s the connections but you have to configure or populate them how you want. They do supply everything that’s needed you just have to do it yourself.
