Default half filled block with a turbo

i have a half filled 6.0 with a 91 mm turbo. will i be able to street drive it still or will it overheat.

You give far too little info to give any reliable answer. The simple answer is that you are not definitely going to overheat, but many factors could cause you to. Put in some gauges, drive around, and find out how it works.

Controlling oil temperature will be your concern. But as stated, details would help with answering your question.

If it gets hot enough for oil temps to be an issue, then he will have gasket problems as well. I don't see those as the first two big issues.

its a 403 billet bottom end with 12.5 compression on e85. 6 bolt brodix heads, my main concern is the ability to cruise around town it it. we are shooting for 1500 wheel. my current set up make 1100 wheel now. auto car. small shot of nitrous not to spool with. i run pro efi computer system. th400 thanks.

my brother runs a 1/2 filled ls2 and it street drives fine . when it is hot if it idles for a few minutes the rear of the engine gets hotter than the front but a quick blip of the throttle to spin the waterpump faster and it comes right back down. we have a temp guage in both heads . been running a couple years now 3 or 4 k miles.

The top end of the motor is not where the heat will be a problem. So gasket sealing should not be an issue. The lack of cylinder cooling via coolant down low is what drives the oil temp up. If the OP is just short tripping it, oil temps will be ok. But a long drive warrants at least an oil temp gauge. Admittedly my experience is in the 4 cylinder world, so take this with a grain of salt. But I cannot see a structural difference in the LS bottom end that would lead me to believe the oil will run cooler.

Sounds like a badass engine btw.

More about oil temp than water.

Get a oil temp gauge and watch it, depending on how hot and how much driving will tell you how big of a cooler you might need.

I've run 1/2 filled SBC and BBC's on the streets for years no problems. This platform should be no different.

run a true grade 4 base stock synthetic, add an oil cooler and a temp gauge...better yet log oil temp.
