The world has changed for the better since you originally learned to hotrod. How many years has it been since people bitched about a Ford 5.0 motor splitting the block at 500hp, or grenading a BBC because you exceeded 6krpm? Nowadays, you can rip open a junkyard LS with 250k miles, and still see crosshatch on the cylinder walls. We are blessed with extremely good machine tolerances, great fuel management, and 6 bolt mains. Just roll with it.

Just remember, the "old" 127,xxx miles was on **** oil, **** oil filters and a carb that just dumped the **** out of fuel, making **** oil, even worse.
Now with better oil, much better filters, and a idle and tip in afr that doesnt drown the motor, it really makes the 127,xxx miles more in the area of say 40,xxx miles of the old days.
This doesnt even touch on the bearings made of better materials, gaskets, tolerances, on and on. Just roll with it.

Im going thru the same exact thing as your first link. Its no doubt tough to package a big single in these tite lil lsx swapped novas. Look up QWKs build thread on SNS, he did a great job gettn twins in there. Most of my headaches with the s484 are because im keepn an ac system. Do away with that n its not that bad
