Default LS6 intake and 3 bar map sen.

I bought the GM 2525 3 bar map sensor to use on my LS6 intake, but with the bolt hole tab it wont work-I wanted to use this map sen. since its in the drop down window on the Holley HP, and I don't have the brains to custom one in, lol. I can plug the hole and move it elsewhere, but if I can trim the bolt area off and not screw it up, I would do that. has anyone done that.
Thanks

The FAST 102 intake doesn't even come with a MAP provision. They give you two options. Drill a hole in the front, on top (fast 102, but same idea on other LS intakes) before the first runner, or in the back behind the last runner.

Just make sure you take it apart and remove the runners before drilling or making any modifications for mounting a MAP.

So the one you have is too big for the hole? That is how I am understanding this.

Trim the bolt hole but dont go too far, it will open up and expose the internal chamber inside it.

The new map sensors (ZR1) require a 15/32 or 1/2" hole into older manifolds. I didnt measure the old hole but if i could guess its probably 3/8". I have one installed in my LS2 manifold.

Yes the old style is about 3/8". I can take a picture later and post it on where I put mine.

Old style map uses that cushy rubber sleeve to seal, new map uses a single oring.

Yes, this is also true. I have the FAST intake installation instructions somewhere. They tell you the exact sizes for the holes, either o-ring or sleeve style. I am 99% positive the old one is 3/8" and the new (like you said) is 15/32.

Honestly the most creative thing I've seen people do is install an NPT fitting in the intake and attach the sensor to another fitting, so it can thread in or out. Seems better and more permanent than the o-ring or the crappy sleeve (which is what I have). I might get froggy if I ever find some free time and make something similar so I can delete my little backing plate I crudely made out of some steel I had laying around to hold it in and not worry about a vacuum leak.

That sensor is ******* china junk. Had 3 out of 3 bad on two different cars. Do not trust your motor to that .10 cent sensor. I think they got so popular due to sloppy recommending them. Im truly disappointed in that. Either that or quality has gone down in the most recent batch. Either way, buyer beware.

I may try and trim it down to fit, gonna ck the opening vs the nipple size on the sensor-worst comes to worse I will put a stock one in the hole and use one of the outputs and hose for the 2525-My Holley HP is set up for this map sensor, so it makes life easier, lol-I didn't want to mod the intake in case I sold it later. Thanks for the info

Get a 3/8 NPT tap , tap the intake, thread 3/8 barb into intake, attach rubber hose to barb and to map sensor. I add zip ties to make sure they never come off as well.

Brother's car makes 1030rwhp on 24lbs of boost with this setup, zero issues.

Most boosted cars run a vacuum block, could just hook it onto a spare port.
