Question Boost Controller/BO Valve/Hobbs Switch Same Vacuum Port?

On my LT4, the installer did a terrible job with pretty much everything, including how screwy they routed the various vacuum lines to the intake. I'm trying to clean this up, but of course there aren't nearly enough vacuum ports on the intake. I was thinking since the Turbosmart boost controller, Hobbs switch (for the dual fuel pumps) and the BO valve are all just trying to read boost pressure, I could route all of those to a 3-way T off the same vacuum port. Is there any issue with doing this?

In theory yes...in practise not always.

And where possible do not share lines for vital items like map sensor, FPR etc.

Ultimately as long as none ever leak then it should be ok though and take any important signals fro a central plenum for a better smooth signal.

Thank you for the info. Luckily, they would be attach central-driver side to the intake.

The issue becomes there just aren't enough ports, and I don't like having them share with other stuff. The other ports used are one for the HVAC controls, one for the FPR, and then another I T'd going to the optispark vent tube and a vacuum line going to the transmission. ALso at the front of the intake the return line from the catch can. Would you suggest I combine them differently?

Run a good vacuum line to a proper vacuum manifold, and then run the stuff off that.

Do you mean like run all the stuff that isn't boost-referenced to like an external vacuum pump to handle all those? Then run the boost-referenced stuff to the intake?

I mean run the stuff that needs vacuum off a vacuum block (manifold) whatever people call them. Just gives you extra ports. I use one from Vibrant but there are many makes. My BOV and 3 hobbs switches run off it no problem.

Holee sheet, I had never even heard of that before. Just like a USB hub! Haha That's the ticket, thank you!

They come in various PSI and are adjustable. They come from racetronix. Bit expensive but very reliable and the connectors are dirt and weather tight.

Good link! I guess I will have to try to buy from them again. Didn't work out on my fuel system.

That sucks. I have ordered multiple times from them and had no issues. Good luck.

Quick question; is there really any advantage to using a vacuum manifold over just T-the lines together before attaching them to the intake? I ask just because I already have the T's in place and I would mostly just moving the lines around to group them together better.

Depends what you're tee'ing together, size of lines, where they're from and how many there are etc.

I figured the Hobbs switch, the BO valve and the and the boost controller since they're all looking at the same thing and they're more about reading instead of flowing.
