I would go with the LS3 head setup myself, I see where they do grind cams based on the port design. I ran LS3 heads, intake on an LQ4, Procharger, it was a great running setup.

Forced on 93 ? What kind of power did you put down?
Any low end loss of torque with the square port heads?

my 6.0 ls3 combo has a custom ljms spec cam, looking at it it doesn' scream turbo cam ....but it works. it' a 111+4 cam.
ljms knows turbos
my combo makes a ton of torque.....loss of bottom end power is a non issue

My 70 Nova made 441 rwhp (uncorrected for altitude) with a bone stock LQ4, 76/65 turbo at 7.5 psi, non intercooled, 94 fuel and spraying windshield washer fluid for intake temp control. It is already way more power than you can hook on the street.

that being said if they are 03 engines they are probally gen 3. if you push them much past 650rwhp you will noodle a rod( ask me how I know).
There guys running 0ver 800 rwhp on gen 3 engines all day. If tune is good they can handle more than people think. Read this http://www.superchevy.com/how-to/eng...rt-block-take/

Id go with the lq9/ls3 head combo. You can run less boost to make your power level on 93 than with the stock lq4. If your octane limited, i would always go for the higher HP NA engine, then run it on lower boost. Just my .02.

Jasonnova... yeah I’d buy a real good turbo cam for either engine, I like hearing with the big heads, torque loss is mute...
Slarsen... that’s not bad and any idea what it did with no washer fluid injection?
New school... I read that about building it that way and with less boost still make great power.

Looks like I will build the lq9 ls3 head setup with a good cam and then upgrade the turbo also if needed at the same time.

Never ran the car without the washer fluid spray. It is just there to keep intake air temps down. At 7.5 psi, I do not think I actually would need to use it. More of a precaution than anything and so little is used. No intercooler so this is my IAT control.
