This is my first turbo build and I have a couple questions before I start to heavily into it. I’m starting out with a 94 s10. I’ve had experience with ls engines but this will be my first turbo build. My end goal is to get into the mid to low 9s. I’m trying to find a 5.3 block now, if I can’t find a gen 4 engine, I’ll throw a set of forged rods and pistons in a gen 3. I was looking at the precision pt7675 turbo to run also. Any advice or suggestions?

do you have a budget for turbo?
im about to start helping a friend with his turbo ls swap in a 91 s10 and he went with a vs racing billet 7875. cant beat them for the price. he is wanting similar goals as you and i think that will be plenty to get him there.

I’m trying to not go above 1000 for the turbo. Is he running a 5.3 also?

Yes. with a jegs 228/230 cam. Pac 1218 springs. Vs racing 7875. That turbo is only 550 bucks. You can get bigger turboes as well and stay under your 1000 dollar budget
