There is no reason at all for there to be a difference between a turbo and blower when no restriction is no restriction for same airflow.
The only one thing a turbo will do that a blower will not...is sort of self compensate via the w/g so boost would remain the same regardless. However you'd need to monitor turbo speed to see if in fact it has changed and that is happening. But if the filter isnt a restriction in the first place then there is no reason for that to change.
Basically a budgetish single turbo 5.3 build, 11psi or so and 700hp, or just shy of it. Intended to last forever on 91 octane for a daily driver. They tested all of those filter designs below and basically negligible difference with all of them vs no filter.
Turbo was a BW, never said which model, 5" inlet so adapted to the 6" filters. 400 series though, and they used the Hooker single turbo kit, Dorman LS6 type intake.
Although would be nice to see them try some small filters just to see if or when they do start to create issues. It's a video, so not really screenshottable lol.
In the video they say the turbo is a BW S485 series with a 80mm compressor, 92mm turbine, T4 housing, A/R 1.25 from LJMS.

Would be nice to see them push it a bit harder. I did hear them mention they might try a different combo..but really that should have more in it quite easily and would be good to see the Hooker setup tested in that sense too.
Then they could also try a variety of smaller filters just to see if or where they do become a problem
Do you follow them or Richard Holdener on Instagram? They just made 1540 on an SBE six liter with two s475's from lil jon. Super impressed by those filters. Will be installing the dry one ASAP.
Yes, indeed there is. Wanna go fast?.... slap a turbo on the car, want average acceleration?.... put a blower on it . Nevermind me, I'm just being silly because it's track day! If I make more than one pass, I may make a pass without the filter just to see if I can tell a difference.
Have you been to the track yet? I'm really curious on times and speed.
This was the 1st pass, mustang called me out (cool dude btw). Had to peddle top of 1st going to 2nd.... seems some tire shake was going on...surprisingly I might add.
Thought about really pouring it on for a 3rd pass, for a 9 second slip and a 145mph pass... but decided against it. The original goal for today was 10.40 @140.... and still drive it home. It did so.... and I called it a win and went home. When I matted it around the 60ft, car pulled harder than it's ever pulled.... felt amazing.
Awesome! That 60 isn't even that great and you picked up ALOT. I can't wait to swap mine over.
Yea, 60ft is still weak (still gun shy from least year). The car is a joy to drive down the track, now that it's on a tire.... and the Th400. Proud of this homebuilt tranny too, after last night...I feel good about the car now. You will not regret the swap one bit.

Thanks man, car isn't nearly as frustrating to try and get down the track in a timely fashion now. Had a blast, hopefully next outing I will be leaving in boost. The thing might actually be fast for real then
