Default Compression and boost on pump/ meth

so I bought a forged ls2 short block. Lunati sig series crank,(stock stroke) compstar rods, and JE flattops . Trying to find
out what cc heads I can run without too much compression . 64cc 10.6 to 1, 68cc 10 to 1, 70 cc 9.9 to 1 this is on 93/meth with a whipple 2.9.i was looking at the Cnc ls9 heads but they are 66.5 cc . The lsa heads are 68cc . How much is too much? Also the rings were gapped @.020, and ..022. Will this be ok for say 15-17lbs?

thats per JE specs, but seems tight to me. You got really nothing to lose opening them up and a shitstorm if they butt.

10.6:1 CR on pump gas & meth would be fine with the right cam.

I was thinking the BTR stage 3 PD cam, unless somebody has a better idea.

I would really like to get 800rwhp out of this new motor. What would it take to get there? Is it possible with this shortblock and a Whipple 2.9?

800rwhp will be possible. 10.6;1 comp PD blower at 15-17psi and pump fuel is pretty keen.

you'll be relying heavily on the cooling and octane boost the meth spray is going to give you. that will be the only thing that lets you put timing in. meth spray is inconsistent and without it the timing you command will be far too much on straight pump and it will go lean also. at your level that will melt really fast.

10.1 pump gas would be much safer but with only 6.0L and 2.9 you'll struggle for the 800whp goal.

10.6:1 6.0 2.9 whipple on 17psi would do 800whp on E85 quite safely though

There are a few E85 stations cropping up in mass now. The closest is about 30-45 min away. I could get rid of my snow kit and get an alky control? My mast ecm has its own tuning software so I can adjust timing at the track etc.. not sure if it is flex fuel capable though. I'll have to look into it

meth injection is great for the cooling aspect.

but while it does that the methanol ends up in the cylinder adding octane to the fuel being burnt and also extra volume. a dyno pull with a perfect tune with meth injection ran without the spray on pump gas will be lean and likely detonate from too much timing.

port meth injection is a different story however as its even in every cylinder. doesn't stop the damage if its ran without the spray though.

E85 is much safer and more reliable for your goals.
