its possible that its far too lean to make the turbo spool or a torque limit is hindering it from spooling.
it only has a one bar MAP sensor on no SD cheat patch to make that work. it has no fueling reference for boost except the MAF which will be miles from calibrated now being turbo.
I wouldn't rule out the stock tune causing you issues be it only that or be it that's its contributing to something else hindering your spool efforts.

i had the wrong clamp on it for a while but that should be resolved as of a while ago hopefully. I’ll keep an eye on that. I’m more concerned with where you can see daylight through, any opinion on that?

Let us know how it runs with the fire ring, you said you were still on the stock tune but I wouldn't run it without atleast a 2 bar base tune. As soon as it makes boost it's going to go extremely lean and more than likely melt the pistons or detonate and break it.
