Quad T04E and 5.3 Currently I have a 78 corvette with twin t04e 50mm eBay turbos. They have internal wastegates and are fun but I think my motor can handle more. I built log style manifolds and could just cut in and make a y that feeds another turbo. Then convert both to external wastegate and put a wastegate before the y.
at about $120 a turbo it's pretty cost effective at this point and although it may not be the simplest way of doing the shock factor will be pretty cool. Also I think the exhaust housing is too small and it would probably be better with 2 on each bank.
what concerns me is will two 50mm turbo on each side take too long to spool? Will one wastegate per side before the y be enough? If so what wastegate? Thanks any help is appreciated.

I have pretty much the exact setup you described.
Quad 50s, but mine are on a 4.8.
Starts building boost at like 2800, but doesn't hit the 8 PSI on the internal gates until about 4k.
So I have it setup at like ~17 PSI right now. My 80 lb injectors are topped out. When boost hits, it feels like a ROCKET.

And you just have one wastegate per bank?

I have a set of those that I took apart and drilled the gate openings on and ghetto ported them for my Fox. I ended up going single, but I am thinking of pulling my good engine and swapping a 4.8 with these in to do donuts. Do you guys have any vids or graphs? I like the cheap throw down setups best. They are considerably more fun.

Not sure, I never got it dynoed. I know the wastegates are not big enough by themselves. I'm having issues with boost inconsistency. I'm intercooled too. I'm pretty sure I'm at 5 or 600 maybe. It's like a rocket but I'm going to switch to the gt3582 it's still a t3 so should spool pretty fast.
