Cool, I'll order two of these 17" rims right now.

As for tires.....I'll have to just try a few to see what works best.

Thanks......

Just checked and the MT et street comes in a 305 45 17 or a 315 50 17. Both will fit a 9.5 inch wheel but I'd go 315 50 if you can fit it as it'll hook better.

This ^^^^

Width definitely looks better but sidewall is what you want for traction.

I wouldn’t want to send wheels off to get widened. Get a set of 17” welds or ccw’s instead of you insist they all match at all times.

M&H 325/45R17 is the only tire I’ve gotten to really work on the bottle. Just to much torque for anything else. I’ve ran just about everything being I used to run a tire shop. Those Michelin’s aren’t going to do diddly squat for you. Also it gets to be a pita changing tires just to go race someone. I left the drag radials on a few years ago and never looked back. Holding the car straight at 100 mph while the tires are spinning gets to be a bit stressful...

I love my M&H’s. I can still spin them if they are older and it’s from a lower roll but they hook damn good.

I already sent my 18 x 10.5 rims to a shop in California to get widened to 12.5".

Thing is....its not a cheesy Weldcraft or other typical widening job. This shop does it the right way with a complete donor inner hub. They have strict weld requirements and measurements. They do side load testing and high speed balancing. They weld both sides with double weld lines. This is not the ridiculous metal hoop that they just weld into the hub somewhere after they cut it in half with a sawz-all or band saw...LOL......that is utterly dangerous and weak and does not pass factory side load testing.

You have to send him your rims for an inspection and measurements of all thicknesses and whatever else they check, then they let you know if they will widen your rim. Its amazing work and my rims look like they came from the factory. You can't tell he widened them unless you really look for it. If the rims were just sitting there its hard to see that it was widened.

This guy widens rims for road race cars that take serious beatings in the twisties.......Only $225 per rim.

It would be nice if a 325 will work for me...just so it looks a bit better too.

But again....the Michelins are ONLY for my daily driving days. I will never attempt to race with the Michelins. My spare set of tires are being stored in my friends work shop garage on the side of his house. I back up to my friends garage...open the door.....use his power tool to pop off the lugs and swap the tires....5 minutes and done. Then leave my other set there while I go drive around having fun. But I won't be changing tires every day....I'd guess once every couple weeks for a fun weekend day.

And I really don't "race" certain people per se.......I just go drive and have a blast, if someone happens to be there well then yea....I'll run them. This is just a ME car.....just my fun car. So I won't ever be like...."****, let me run home and grab my other tires and I'll be right back."

But maybe I'll try those M&H 325/45/17......if the 295 doesn't work on the 9.5" wide rim.

The main point to remember is don't go crazy on cold tires. I once left the track and swapped my MT DRs for Nitto NT01s at the gas station. I left it in high boost and hit the highway. A half mile later I damn near went sideways on the 4th gear change because the tires had no heat in them yet. This was on a 550rwhp ride at the time. I have seen 2 foot wide MT slicks smoke the entire 1/4 when cold on bigger hp rides.

Oh yea....I have no intentions in driving anyway but normal and casual when I have my Michelins on, they are just for daily driving. I think those will be on there 95% of the time. If a nice weather day arises....and I have nothing to do one day, I'll stop by my friends house and swap them. Then go have fun that day. Then swap them back for the next week or so......

So a cold tire is basically what I do every day I get into my car now.....and when I had my 500 RWHP 436ci stroker. No issues at all.
