Default First LS to the 5s!!!!

Got a short window to go run the Camaro down the 1/4 with a prepped surface on the 315s. We put a 3.25 gear in it to keep the RPM down under 9300 through the traps. First attempt was a 6.03@243 and then I put more in it on the front half and 45 min later we went 1.07 3.69@194 5.97@243.

No we will not be making NM9 this year. We are bringing the Impala to Indy this weekend for NMCA.

It was a great weekend, after we did this on Thursday we pulled the Impala out and won the Radial vs World 10k race.

Both cars have the same engines and drive train, the Camaro is just a newer lighter car.

I love that you guys went after these records. It's hard on the wallet but amazing to the rest of us. The first 6 second pass was 13 years ago.

Congrats boys!!!! Amazing work all round and what a big milestone we all wondered for so long who would it be, until you put together this car that is I had a feeling right away this was going to be the one because the Impala was so awesome and now with fresh everything and that gorgeous car to go with it? All lined up and here it is, the awesome of awesome.

Watching the vid am I nuts or does it look like its still being held back, quite a bit?

Thanks, we new this one had the potential to get it done even though it is 100% a 1/8th mile car.

Yes that was a very mild tune up as we only had a short window to make it happen. I choose to be conservative and go for a 5.9x rather then go right for the 5.80s haha. A big reason for the car drifting left is that the pre-load is set to make real power to the 330ft and this was lazy to say the least.

I think your being quite humble with 5.80 on kill, looks more like 5.57 but hey thats just my guesstimate from watching all you guys run for so long. Whats with those hi-tech wheelie bars? Rolling back up under the chassis midway down the track
