Default another cam thread

Looking for a cam recommendation for my jet boat. I have a 18' jet boat that i have been running a high compression nitrous 5.3 in for a few years now. It runs really well and i have it pretty dialed in.

i have decided to make the change to turbos and i am working on my kit.

Here are the specs for the build
Iron block 5.7 boring a 5.3 to a 3.905
Edelbrock victor JR intake
Trick Flow gen x 205 heads (58cc)
JE -19.5cc Dish pistons/Scat rods/Stock crank
will have CSU build me a carb
Plan to run either 91, or avgas if i need more boost to hit my goals.
twin rev9 72/68's
No intercooler

im looking for a cam and i do not care about idle quality. I dont mind running decent fuel if i have to but would like to be where i want on 91.

My power goals are very reasonable i feel. Im guessing somewhere in the 800-850 Flywheel HP range will get me where i want to be. I was pretty happy with the on bottle performance of the boat before, and am only looking for a little bit more. Atleast with this hull, if i upgrade hulls i want the ability to "turn it up" for more performance later on if needed

Here are a few that im looking at, thoughts or any recommendations on other cams i am open to

BTR Turbo Stage 2 or 3 cam
TSP "Bald Eagle" LS1 Boosted cam
Lil John's motorsports Stage 2 or 3 twin turbo cam

or any other recommendations?

thanks

Stock ls1 cam would make 800 flywheel with that setup.
Choose a cam based on dynamic compression and the RPM range you need. Peak power output is going to hit your goals under almost any circumstance.

I had a stock 4.8 with a pair of those turbos and the LJMS Stage 2 TT cam. Car went 8.95 @ 153 at 3325lbs. Well over 900hp flywheel on e85. Should easily meet your goals with that bigger built motor.

I would rather have something with some decent sound at idle. I dont mind an agressive cam. I am currently running the BTR Stage 4 LS1 cam (235/242 .621/.595 111lsa)

Thank you for the info.

What about the power range of this size turbo? I would like the engine to start making power somewhere around the 3500 rpm range.

My little 4.8 with a stock LS1 intake would go to 7200 all day. Was pretty dead under 4500 or so, but your motor will be a different animal.
