Default Need some boost setting advice

Fellas. So i'm sitting here thinking. I really dont feel like breaking anything else in my car anytime soon (when do we ever really want to break stuff anyways? lol). So my boost controller allows me to do just about anything I want. So in the interest of going as fast as I can, but trying to let my drivetrain live (built 4l60, stock IRS in a gto, stock drive shaft) How should i set my power to come in? So i have low boost in 1st, ramp it in 2nd to the max before it shifts and have it max in third? Add some torque management on the shifts? How much? Maybe lower the boost a little right before the 2-3 shift? What you guys think?

Your stock rear gears and driveshaft will probably handle anything you can throw at them. The rest of the irs setup (lsd, stubs, cv, halfshafts) will not be happy no matter what you do. Decent tires can twist the inner stubs at almost any power upgrade. If anything ever causes one wheel to spin, the factory lsd clutches will burn up. The first time I did what should have been a good launch on MT DRs I popped a CV. Most of my 4l60 opinions are based on slightly heavier trucks, but the results have ranged from terrible to worse with any power upgrade. If you want one of those to live you may need to put a vacuum on your intake instead of boost.

I'm not interested in leaving hard off the line. i pull a 1.7 sixty foot not even trying. leaving in vacuum. I plan on upgrading the diff and adding stubs and axles. My strategy was to not leave hard in first, not put too emphasis on a hard launch and ramp it in more up top. I feel like the launch is what kills things.

Don't worry so much about boost settings. Worry about torque management timing settings. Those activate in a much quicker manner. Just remember about the transmission. Everything else dies in first gear because of torque multiplication, but your tranny takes the full brunt of the power all the time.
