It’s amazing what some S10s get away with and some don’t.

Some guys move the shaft over, some channel the manifold etc.

my 2003 was tight as **** and I hated it..

Check out Billy the Kid's S10. He's doing work with a small tire and stock rear suspension (leaf springs and Caltracs). I'd go 9", spool and 35 spline axles and never look back. Literally, because you'd never have a problem with it. You have a good looking S10 btw.

Yeah he's got a quick truck. Mine is already setup for a triangulated 4 link, which I'm switching back to parallel. I'll have some new pictures coming soon... taking the bed/rear glass out now to correct the 10 point roll cage (rear bars currently come out the bottom and attach to the bed. They need to come from the main hoop to the rear frame).

Went down to the shop tonight to start gutting the entire bed but my father was fixing paint on a chevelle. So I just got it cleared out for this weekend.

Also decided to mount the front bumper and take a better picture with the new wheels mounted.

I don't know if anyone could answer this.. but I'm floating the idea of going with a tube chassis back half. I'd like to use chromoly to tie into my current cage (mild steel). Would this still pass cert for 8.50 and slower?

You can definitely do that as long as every joint that has chromoly has to be tig welded

If you plan to do any class racing, you might find yourself not legal if you backhalf the truck. Some classes require OEM frame from the front A arm mount, all the way to the rear spring perch, or in your case, behind the rear axle.

Disregard if you’re gonna just go out and have fun with this little truck! Badass build!

Spent most of the week chipping away at the frame when I found time. I purchased a Ford 8.8" out of a 2011 crown vic and shortened it. I'm going with Moser 9" ends so I'm waiting for those to come in this week before I throw the alignment bar in it and weld it all together.

Gearing? I have a couple of sets for sale. 3.73 original Ford gears and 3.90 Motive if you're interested. I imagine the Vic was geared high.
