Still have no idea what car you are talking about putting this in... but you are going to have a hell of a time sizing a turbo properly for that RPM range. Having a turbo come on strong at 2500 rpms means it's going to be too small and it's not going to hang on till 6500 rpms. For that rpm power band you are talking about I would be looking at a roots/positive displacement supercharger like a Magnuson TVS 2300 or 2.9L Whipple.

Hey WTF,

Is this on an F Body?
If so, using the A/A Vette bracket, have you been able to retain factory-like creature comforts?

Thanks,

This will be in a hsv which has the same chassis as a 2005 Pontiac GTO.
It's just so hard to decide.
There are pros and cons for each system.

Slide on over to the transmission section, and you will soon have more insight into his brand of "logic", if that's what you want to call it.

I'm aware that Jake's has a pretty bad name around here. Just using it as an example

Nah, wasn't throwing any shade at Jake. Just highlighting ops steadfastness with the glorious, tried and true 4l60 family of transmissions.

Will those new 2650's fit under a GTO/HSV hood? Seems like that would give you everything you're asking for.

I'm not sure about that one actually.
But they are available here in Australia.
Harrop has their own version of one in their kit.
I hear the 2650 unit is slightly more efficient than the older 2300 unit and makes a lot more power too.
I think the 2650 is better suited to my 408 stroker engine compared to the 2300

Yeah. Another member on here wanted to go with 1 of them but in the end didnt cause he wanted over 1200whp or something. It may be a good candidate for you as packaging is good (read it sits in place of the intake, no crazy pipes/tubing under the hood, will make full torque at 2500 rpms, and make 800whp and then some.).

Any decent 2.65 should be able to make +1000whp on kill.

Heartbeat 2.3 can make over 800whp and can be picked up fairly cheap used.

OP has been posting in the transmission section. Apparently the 4L65 is a gift from above.

I've got 3 buddies with that blower on a fif gen ZL1. Only one lid has done that due to a nitrous backfire. lol

Does it without nitrous as well. Kinda like the LSA bricks breaking everything has a weak spot. Personally just not a fan of blowers, with a 408 I'd go with a set of twins as its cheapest way to alleviate the backpressure issue on larger engines and less need to change his cam.

I've got a blower car and 3 single terbo vehicles. They all serve their intended purposes well.

Many ways to skin the OP's cat.

Indeed it is. It even acts as a detoxifying agent, completely rids your wallet of all green substances.
