I finished the intercooler piping and I have to say, I think I found a pretty sweet spot for my procharger filter. Check it out. I have all the clearance I will ever need and its in a pretty safe spot. Just wanted to share.

The only downside, and I'm not really even sure, is that the filter is 5 inches in length.

Progress looks good, so is the filter down by where the horn is? When I had my Vortech on my LT1 I had the filter come down into the driver side fender behind the lights. I just cut the hole open bigger to fit a huge filter.

Well...I been starting the motor on and off for the last two weeks just to get it up to operating temperature to verify that nothing is leaking or seems peculiar. Started it yesterday, seemed fine, gave it a little acceleration (maybe +/- 3500rpm) and I start hearing what appears to be a bad lifter on the passenger side. I removed the valve covers and everything seems fine. Rockers were all tight. I did an oil change, but didn't see anything of much concern in the oil that was drained out.

Pretty sure it's lifter and appears to be in the passenger side head. I bought a set of 16 x 5315 Morel Lifters about a year ago. They were sitting in a quart of oil for about that long too. At the time, I didn't really think to perform research on the Morel's, but come to think of it, maybe I should have gone with the Delphi's. Or I'm just one of the unfortunate ones. Or do they happen to just be this noisy? It was not this loud before.

Take the belt off the blower and get a clip, will be easier to hear what's going on. If the valvetrain is tight I would pull the plugs and get a borescope in the cylinders to see if there is any contact? Also, you can unplug the fuel injectors one cylinder at a time to try and narrow down which cylinder is the problem. Was cam timing verified? Pushrod length measured or just 7.4?

I can do that in a little bit. I did verify push-rod length and it came out to 7.4. As for timing, just the usual dot to dot. You mean piston to valve contact? I would highly doubt it, but anything is possible.

That was a pretty nasty sound. It could be a litter but I'd want to rule out any contact.

I think I am going to re-check preload since you mentioned push rods. If it stops raining at some point today maybe I can take a look. I'll get back to you.
