Muffler for external wastegate dump.
I would just plumb the dump pipes back into my down pipe but my setup is a rear mount and the turbos are my mufflers.
The turbos do a decent job quieting down the exhaust when the gates aren't open, but when they open, everyone knows it. I put a 14" straight through bullet resonator type muffler before each turbo and its brought the sound down quite a bit with almost no effect on my spool up.
The sound is very nice and deep now but again, soon as both 38mm gates open it causes passengers to cover their ears. PIus it would also be nice to hear the turbos some more at wide open, the spool up sound is like the turbo on a diesel truck with the turbos being rear mounted, that is until the wastegate drowns out everything.
So, go ahead and laugh.. but what about putting a small, straight through dirt bike type muffler or glass pack on each gate? Theres not much room which is why I mention the dirt bike muffler. I'd be looking at a cheap aftermarket one thats a straight through design so it flows well, not some restrictive OEM muffler.
Thoughts?
It's odd really...inside the car it sounds very loud. But outside....it really isnt.
I made a simple tube/flange in stainless, and then the can/discharge side from aluminium, mainly so there would be less weight hanging off the gates. The alloy bit simply clamps onto the flange, so it can be removed/repacked easily.
Havent actually tried to re-pack them yet though

Right now It's just all gate, no dump pipe what so ever and they are right under the car and pointed down.
