Default 416 oil psi issues

Have a Thompson motors 416 with a Magnuson 2300 over driven. Been having low pressure almost since the initial crank up. But now it’s dipping under 10 psi hot. Pulled the pan found a sticker stuck in the pick up. Reassembled still the same problem no change. And have also tryed different weight oils same problem

Edit

Where is the oil pressure sensor located? have you tried a mechanical gauge? have you cut the oil filter apart?

oil sensor is at the top back of the motor, mechanical gauge read 25 psi at crank up. Once engine starts to warm up pressure drops. Lil metal in the oil bought that was normal for a new engine

Did you call Thompson? What did they say? Definitely has a problem. 25 psi cold is low, let alone 10 or less hot.

Pull it out and either take it back to them or pull it apart yourself. I’d guess there’s metal in EVERYTHING by now. Good luck.

if they don't respond well file a credit card dispute...that will usually get some response.

Metal in the filter is normal if its just some sparkles on a new engine. Flakes or a lot of metal is not normal.

Thompson Motorsports is a great company though and has really good reputation. A friend of mine got his new style LT1 416 done there and it's been great. He also toured the facility.

Edit
25# is not normal if using the Melling high pressure oil pump that should be on the motor, Give us a call and we will help you get it resolved. We have a 1 year warranty so if anything is going on let us take care of it and get you back on the road asap.

This is a great way to complicate a situation and delay any process of reconciliation. I strongly recommend against this and just simply taking advantage of the warranty to repair the motor allowing good honest transactions between the buyer and seller.

Default Major oil leak under warranty

I have a 2017 Hyundai Santa fe with a major oil leak. So I noticed oil under car when I came out in morning on a Monday. I do park on the street and on the weekend sometimes I have to park somewhere other than in front of my house. So maybe leak began between saturday and Sunday night since I noticed on Monday morning. I took the car to Hyundai dealer that I purchased car from where I have oil change service. They called me to the back and said the oil filter cap was not tight enough . but even though I said ok and then they did oil and filter change, and then turned the car on to run for a few minutes .while they did the change and then start back up I was in the service waiting area and I heard the tech who was servicing my vehicle say to service manager that the oil light came back on. Then a few minutes after that the so called master service consultant called me up to his desk and said they hear a noise in the Crankshaft and it sounds like worn bearings. I said what does that mean? He said you need a new engine and I have to show you your options. They were a 7500$ engine or another engine for 9000$. And they were adamant that they didn't think I should drive it, mind you there were 70000 miles on car with the extended warranty of 10 years 120000 miles. So I said what about the warranty and wouldn't they give me a rental car while the dealer looked at it and they told me if it was a warrantable repair. Then I felt like I was starting to be taken for absolute brainless because the way they approached me. This whole time they were back there and the oil light came back on and they never even tried to look under car to see if maybe there was a real oil leak and not just the filter cap loose. I then went home with oil light on not thinking about it until I got home and a few hours later I could see oil dripping , and not sure if I mentioned I told dealer i was losing quart a day and had to add twice a day to make sure not low. So then all weekend it loses quart a day and then I go back to dealer after weekend and as soon as open and I told service consultant that I was still losing a quart oil daily and he proceeded to ask me if I cleaned the plastic undercarriage from the other day Andi said it is leaking a quart a day not did I clean undercarriage . So instead of saying he would take a look at leak, he just didn't address anything and I got mad at him for trying to sell me 7500$ engine or 9000$ without even seeing if defect in engine or other leak caused crankshaft noise through my warranty. I then looked at car through day to try to locate myself and called hyundai Motor America to file a complaint. At the same time with the oil leaking so badly I made an appointment at another hyundai dealer that was around.so 2 days later I go to other dealer and sit for 2 and a half hours and they tell me that they can't find the leak and they put dye in the oil and for me to come back Monday, and this is Thursday mind you. And she advised me to not add any oil so they could spot the dye coming from leak. She did tell me that they thought it was coming from top of engine. I didn't think so because it has been dry . So I go home and next day on Friday I see dye coming out with oil and so I open the hood and take off cover over engine and shine a few lights at several angles all over top of engine area under manifold and on top of transmission and it is dry as whistle everywhere so through me talking to people and watching videos for days I new either oil sending unit or rear main seal because the oil is coming from right between the engine and transmission on the bottom. And like I said top is dry as can be.i then on Saturday morning took the car back to the 2nd hyundai dealer and told the lady that the dye was coming out and that she told me not to add oil and I told her I had to add oil it was low yesterday and again today and she said that I shouldn't of done that because now I am messing the process up. When I first pulled up this time I popped the hood and took out flashlight and called the lady over to look and shined the light all around the top of engine and transmission and showed her it was dry, I then got under and shined light and said it is area where rear main seal is. So then she said if engine locked. Up I would get new one under the warranty . and then I said only if I am not driving highway speed and then people can't avoid me from engine failure and I die or others die. I said I can't get new engine then.so I proceeded to wait in service waiting area for about 2 hours then she called me to the back car service shop and with my car running and up on lift me and her go over and I pull out a flashlight out of my pocket and pointed out exactly where oil was coming from and she finally agreed that they thought it was the rear main seal . she then proceeds to tell me that it is a long job and I would have to come back Monday to get process started . I then said with the warranty a rental car is included and she said she had a process to go through with hyundai warranty. So I said you want me to drive this car and maybe engine failure ? She then stunned me again by saying well if the engine fails then the process is quicker to get new engine . I said it is a fire hazard and she did me Monday to bring back . I have heard more noise from engine over this 10 day period and no resolution from dealer on massive oil leak.i now do not want to go back to this hyundai dealer either! This is the first time posting on an auto forum , and was trying to get any Advice possible from whoever is willing to give it about what I should do next? Thanks for any help!
