Default New Turbos Options

Hello everybody was wondering about some opinions on some new turbos I'm gonna be coming out of retirement and getting back into racing. My vehicle has went in the low 8's @ 172. I currently run older Super T 76's on a twin setup with .96 housings Turbonetics. I'm think of the turbonetics billet 7575 or 7578 or possible something out of the Precision line. I'm looking for something that would support about 1000hp on a 409 cubic inch Chevy setup and this is a twin. I feel my current setup supports about 850hp each but older on center turbos that are not even made anymore and super inefficient but they got me to 8.20's 10 years ago. I know Comp Turbo is out the Borg Warner but would rather stay in the Turbonetics or Precision lineup so any opinion or help would be greatly appreciated.

Budget? You can get some badass precision turbos roughly the same size as yours that are good for 1200 each but its going to be 5 grand for the pair.

Thanks for the input yeah budget i was thinking wasn't an issue but didn't want to go to 5k but I'm seeing that its out there. I was liking the Billet 7575 because it seemed like i could be in those for around 3500.00. I didn't want to go to big because i like the way the car spooled now but i also know that the newer technology will put out more power and spool like what i have now but thanks for the input definitely like the Precision stuff also.

I'm sure Jose at FI turbos could get you a setup that will outperform about anything and has several ways to fit your budget. But yes totally agree newer tech will get you farther and be happier than you are now.

I had twin turbonetics 75/75s and they didn't like the heat at all! They only lasted me about a year before they were basically junk and it was 1600 to rebuild them.

I worked with Reed@WorkTurbo and we did twin s374s with a garret GT42 turbine housing and it was a direct swap, didn't have to change a single thing on my turbo kit. The car is making close to 1700rwhp now with these turbos and are much better than the turbonetics units for longevity.

Give them a call or shoot them message, I am very happy with these turbos I got from him!

Thanks guys for the input looking for a combo to get me to about 1500 rear wheel after homework today car has hit in the past 1250 rear wheel so looking to pick up about 250hp more rear wheel and thats plenty no more needed. I will try to reach out to the person mentioned and also thanks for the opinions on the 7575. I have heard that there is a new Super T line coming from Turbonetics that I'm trying to learn more about. I guess in my life time I've bought like 10 turbos from Turbonetics and 2 turbos from Comp Turbo so i think i may need to get outside my comfort zone and being out of it for a while i appreciate the opinions they are very much appreciated.

This is a very solid recommendation. Well worth your time to give Jose a call/email.

I know a guy who ran one of those on a s10. Truck was a 5.3 with a turbo 400. Truck weighed about 3200#. He got it down to around a 8.0, I think he got it in the 175-177 mph area with about 20#'s. If your looking to run a single, it probably won't make the grade for what your looking at.
He swapped his combo around now, he went with a 94mm promod turbo. It's in the 7's now. Feel free to pm me and I can provide a little more info, but not much.
