Default 4" inlet/outlet crossflow Perf core muffler

Any recommendations for a 4" muffler thats perforated core with an offset inlet/outlet? I was thinking of getting the aero chamber bc its known to work well but its still a straight through design. I would love a cross flow perforated core muffler like the borla proXS as the turn makes them alittle quieter without hurting flow that much. Looks like almost all 4" mufflers are straight through vs crapmaster which I don't want. Looking for something in the 18"-20" Overall length with a 14-15" case length and oval case if possible.

Not sure if they changed much but back when the Hooker Aerochambers came out I picked up a decent amount of power on low boost from swapping mufflers and using a cutout, meaning it didn't flow very well.

I find that very interesting. Since its basically a straight tube with holes and 18" long. I had one and the build quality was nice (heavy) but couldn't comment on the sound deadening or flow bc I used it in series with a big dynomax ultra flow as well. What muffler did you end up swapping to? I'm also looking at the vibrant which is 1" longer case (not really going to matter) but its 304SS vs the aluminized steel that the aerochamber is and it cost about $50 more.

I went to a large magnaflow. Sounded better and "felt" like it spooled better too IMO. After adding a cutout it picked up 30whp at 8psi.

what was the setup? How big was the DP or the exhaust before the catback? I pick up a lot of power with my cutout open but closed it still feels decent but it’s down on power and I don’t get the turbo spool I want like with the cutout open. I only have a billet 78/75 and a 3” DP. I’m basically keeping it all the same and going from the cutout back to 4” and hoping that additional flow gets me a little more power and spool sound without being obnoxious loud.

It was a 3" downpipe to a 3.5" over axle exhaust with the muffler in the stock location for a 4th gen. Cutout was placed in the 3" downpipe.

similar to what I’m wanting to do. My cutout is below the pass seat on my 3rd gen and then I want to step up to the

Got a vibrant 4” inlet 18” x7” round case @22” total length. Got my 4” sinister exhausts yesterday and installed it last night. They use mufflex parts apparently but it fit the stock PHB support and I got lots of ground clearance. Hoping to start the car today to hear it but the 7” muffler fit no problem and has a gap between it and the gas tank hest
shield. Hope it helps with taming the sound.

I didn't have good luck with a vibrant resonator for making any difference in sound. Hopefully yours works better.

This isn’t a resonator, it’s part of there streetpower muffler line, real muffler not a resonator. I hope it
does too.

Started it up and shocked by how quiet it still is. Here are some videos

here is the before video with the borla proXS muffler idling.

here is the after video with the 4” catback

Driving the car down the highway with 4” catback

honestly I took the car out for a drive and the car is much quieter than I thought. It’s louder than the borla 3” but not as loud as I was expecting. I was able to get alittle more turbo spool through the full exhaust but still nothing compared to what the cutout provides. Overall the car is still pretty quiet and I can cruise down the road with the windows down and not hear the exhaust much. Depending on how I feel I can always do a muffler delete or put something smaller in

for those of you wondering my smaller oval case vibrant randomly shipped 3 weeks early from Jegs and arrive today. It’s a 5x9x15 case with 20” tota
length however it’s really 5.5”x9”x15” and a 19”
overall length. The way I fabbed the exhaust it fits the 22” long 7” DIA round muffler better after test fitting tonight. The smaller vibrant is a direct swap for the Hawks muffler delete pipe (same 19” length) and it’s a good bit cheaper than the maggy. The 7” round only hangs .75” lower than the oval so im fine with that and its not lower than my rear. I did not like how much gap is above the oval muffler than the heat shield... almost wished I could tuck the over axle pipe up higher and if I could then I would run the oval smaller muffler. I def picked up power over the 3” catback and got alittle more turbo whine but still
nothing compared to the cutout being open. got nothing bad to say with this hawks/mufflex catback, lots of ground clearance and great fitment.
