Default E85 on gas scale holley efi

I have a question that hopefully someone can clear up. I have a single turbo on a 6.0 liter with Bosch 80lb injectors and I am on e85. and I have noticed that the fuel flow is high. I am on the gas scale with e85 and I was wondering how does the ECU know the differnece between gas and e. Also my horsepower number is real high. My formula I am using is fuel flow/.6. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

If you’re tuned in the gas scale, just run it like that. No need to change. There’s a lot behind the scenes for fuel flow. Also, change your fuel multiplier to .8-.85 for E85.

Thanks for the reply, I was just surprised I was using 75 percent of my injectors on this. If I change the multiplier to .8 it says it is making 600 which would be about right for 75 percent of that injector. Does the base fuel/lb per hr in the data logger come from the base fuel table.

Yes it does. But if duty cycle goes up for some reason other than makin more power (like a clogged filter) it’ll show increased fuel flow/power. Make sense? Also, if the base fuel pressure is off, it’ll affect the fuel flow because it uses all those parameters in the equation. Clear as mud I know.

So your saying if the base fuel pressure is off of what the tune thinks it's at, it would be off, is that correct?
Also, does the multiplier change based on the fuel, or: E85 vs 91 Oct? And if so, I guess that is to accommodate for the extra fuel being used on E vs 91?

Yes and yes. If you have the base set at 43 in the tune and you run it at 58 base, you’ll get incorrect data.
Yes, the multiplier changes with the fuel. If you compare stoich values of each fuel at a specific lambda reading, you’ll see how much different they are percentage wise. That would then translate into the multiplier. For example, stoich for gasoline is about 42% leaner than the stoich for e85. So your .6 for gasoline would be .85 for E85.

Hey 3 window, is there a advantage to using the fuel type in there then, or if your starting from scratch does it basically not matter? So if you have a solid tune setup for 91 and swap to E, is there any benefit to telling the tune I guess is my question? If you change from 91 to E or vice versa say without a content sensor, will it change other things in the tune?
